Faru Faru River Lodge is built on a gently sloping hill, overlooking a waterhole and the Grumeti River. The suites and lodge areas are decorated in a style dating back to the Colonial elegance of a classic East African safari camp. The lodge area has an airy dining room, lounge, bar, a shaded lawn and viewing decks overlooking waterholes and the Grumeti River. The Spa features 2 therapy rooms, or you can indulge in a treatment in the privacy of your suite.
The Grumeti Reserves are located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, bordering the national park, and encompass 400,000 acres of unrivalled wilderness. The area forms part of the famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds of thousands of animals every year.
The local influence is ever-present, inspired by rock formations said to have been left behind by an ancient people.
Walks from the lodge along the Grumeti River and game drives can be enjoyed with professional guides. Other activities include archery, lawn croquet, mountain biking and hot air ballooning. Faru Faru River Lodge also has access to the Sasakwa Equestrian Centre, which is home to 16 horses. All Equestrian related activities are led by professional horse guides.
