Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and be met and transferred to Arusha Hotel where you'll spend the night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Spend some time wandering around Arusha, checking out the markets and perhaps buying a few curios before heading out for dinner at one of the town's top restaurants.

This morning you'll enjoy a delicious breakfast before departing for Karatu. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley and up the escarpment, where you'll have wonderful views of vast Lake Manyara and the Maasai Steppe below.

Continue through the rich farmlands to Karatu, where you'll arrive at at Gibbs Farm in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon out on a walking tour of a coffee farm and visiting the local Iraqw village, before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Today you'll experience your first Tanzanian safari, with a drive to the rim of the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater. The early morning is often foggy, but as you descend down into the crater, the mist will clear and you'll enjoy marvelous views of the crater floor.

The caldera is home to over 30 000 resident animals, among them lion, elephant, cheetah and buffalo. Enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch near a hippo pool, after which you'll continue your safari until mid afternoon when you'll ascend back up the slopes of the crater and head back to Gibbs Farm.

This morning you'll transfer to the Lake Manyara Airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Serengeti National Park, Tanzania's huge wilderness that is the stage for the annual wildebeest migration.

On arrival at Seronera Airstrip, you'll be met and transferred to Soroi Serengeti Lodge just in time for lunch. In the afternoon you'll set off on a game drive in a 4x4 open air game vehicle to experience the wonders of the Serengeti.

Return to the lodge in the late afternoon in time for sundowners and dinner. The next day is spent out in the park searching for game and enjoying the peaceful setting of the Serengeti.

This morning you'll enjoy one more shared game drive before returning to the lodge in time for lunch, after which you'll transfer to the Seronera airstrip for your flight to Kigali Airport in Rwanda.

On arrival you'll be met and transferred to the Kigali Serena Hotel where you'll get ready for your exciting gorilla trekking excursion for the following day.

This morning you'll set out on an early morning game drive to Volcanoes National Park, where you'll be briefed about your gorilla tracking excursion.

Then set off deep into the forest and spend time trekking and searching for the rare mountain gorillas. Be aware that tracking can take a number of hours, and the time spent with the gorillas is limited to 1 hour.

It is a highlight of any East African safari, so be sure to take along your (non flash) camera.

After completing your trek you'll then proceed to Virunga Lodge for lunch, where you'll relax and enjoy the afternoon at your leisure.
