Although the alluring blues of the sea around Zanzibar's islands will keep you busy with diving, snorkelling, dhow trips and watersports on offer, the land is just as exciting and interesting. You can stroll the cobbled streets of Stone Town, (either on your own impromptu follow-your-nose type tour, or as part of a conducted walk), explore the spice plantations in the countryside or hire a bike and scoot around the island, making your own island discoveries.
