Although families are welcome, Zanzibar holidays are not really an ideal family holiday destination as none of the hotels and resorts on Pemba and Zanzibar offer specific programmes designed for kids.

If this is specifically what you want out of an East African beach holiday, you would probably be better served by heading to Mombasa in Kenya, where parents can relax while their kids enjoy a number of child-specific activities. If your kids are happy to spend their holiday on the beach amusing themselves though, they'll love a holiday in Zanzibar.
