Location: Zanzibar is an archipelago consisting of two large islands and several small ones. It is located roughly 40km off the coast of Tanzania.

Population: The last reliable estimate was approximately 720,000 inhabitants (1992), but it's believed the population of Zanzibar is now about one million.
