Mnemba Island Zanzibar

Although Mnemba Island (also known as Mnemba Atoll) is privately owned, the reef is open to everyone.

The island is one of the best scuba-diving sites in Zanzibar and a popular one - at times you'll find a fleet of dive boats moored close to the island.

A coral reef surrounds the island, with the depth dropping relatively quickly to 800m as you set off from shore. The island is also a nesting site for the endangered green turtle.
