Chumbe Island Coral Park is situated on Chumbe Island, which is 6 miles (9km) southwest of Stone Town and a 40-minute boat ride from Mbweni beach.
Several activities are possible on the island. In fact, the whole of Chumbe Island is a nature reserve and you may explore its beauties either under the competent guidance of the park rangers or on your own with the help of laminated cards and leaflets available. You could also snorkel through the shallow water Reef Sanctuary, explore the Forest Reserve or look for historical monuments. Alternatively, allow yourself a lazy day at the beach watching dhows and outrigger boats go by.
Included in the accommodation price at Chumbe Island Coral Park are all the food, soft drinks, snacks, park fees, park ranger services such as forest walks, guided snorkelling on the reef (with all equipment provided), scheduled boat transfers to and from the island.
