Thornybush Collection

Location

All of the lodges in the Thornybush Collection are situated in the Thornybush Private Nature Reserve except Simbabili Game Lodge which is situated in the prestigious Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve.

The Thornybush Private Game Reserve is a 115 km2 prime wilderness reserve, bordering the famous Kruger National Park approximately 5 hours' drive from Johannesburg. The reserve boasts superb Big 5 game viewing as well as excellent birdwatching.

Wildlife

One of the core values of all Thornybush Collection lodges is to provide guests with superb game viewing and memorable safaris. The Thornybush and Sabi Sands private game reserves are well known for providing visitors with thrilling Big 5 sightings, as well as varied bird species.

The Thornybush Private Game Reserve is home to an abundance of species, including 147 mammal species and over 500 bird species. Since 2004, the Thornybush Private Game Reserve has been home to the rare black rhino.
