Lost City & Madikwe Luxury Safari

On arrival at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport you will be met and transferred to Sun City, South Africa's most glitzy and multi-faceted holiday resort.

After settling into your room at the Palace of the Lost City, your adventure can begin.

Sun City offers a virtually endless list of activities to keep the entire family entertained. The children will just love The Valley of Waves - a no-holds-barred waterpark with thrilling waterslides, an artifical beach and a wave pool - and be sure to visit the crocodile farm too.

There are plenty of sports on offer - mountain biking, horse riding, water skiing, and para sailing - and any keen golfers in the family will be delighted by the two Gary Player-designed golf courses at the resort.

If you want to do a bit of game viewing before you head to Madikwe then the Pilanesberg National Park is right next door and you can go on game drives, elephant-back safaris and even hot-air balloon flights.

And finally, parents who want a bit of quality time together (or on the golf course) will be pleased to learn that Sun City has a special kids activity club and a baby sitting service.

Your post-breakfast transfer will be waiting to take you to Madikwe Private Game Reserve and Madikwe Safari Lodge.

Sit back and relax - Madikwe is about two hours away - but keep your eyes open as you enter the reserve: the game viewing will begin right away!

Madikwe Safari Lodge offers a wonderfully comfortable base from which to experience a perfect safari. Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge, which provides them with special activities designed to keep them active and teach them about the wild.

Madikwe's malaria-free Kalahari grasslands and open woodlands are packed with wildlife, and the list of animals includes not only the Big 5 but also a rewarding blend of familiar savannah species and desert specialists too.

Go on morning and late afternoon/early evening game drives led by knowledgeable and experienced guides. When back at camp, unwind by the pool or in the camp's library before your meals - breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served in the relaxed communal dining area.

Enjoy a final breakfast and bid farewell to Madikwe before being transferred back to OR Tambo International Airport in time for your outbound flight.
