Fly from Johannesburg to Maun Airport and catch your charter flight to Eagle Island Camp, situated in a private concession deep within the Okavango Delta and bordering Chief's Island. Spend the afternoon settling into your tented accommodation before enjoying sundowners at the bar and becoming acquainted with this spellbinding wilderness.

Today will be spent on various safari activities to view the abundant wildlife of the Delta. The largest inland freshwater delta in the world, the Okavango Delta is home to both an incredible density and variety of animals. Keep an eye out for rare antelope, predators and some of the Delta's most sought-after bird species.

One particularly thrilling experience is gliding through the Delta's intricate network of channels by mokoro (dug-out canoe) - giving you an eye-level view of this unique environment.

A charter flight will take you to Khwai River Lodge, situated on the fringes of the Okavango Delta and overlooking the Khwai River floodplain and the Moremi Game Reserve. The afternoon can be spent reading in the library, pampering yourself with spa treatments, or exploring this beautiful area on a game drive or guided walking safari.

Today is once again dedicated to searching for Botswana's legendary big game. Go on guided walks to get close to nature, enjoy game drives with knowledgable guides and do a little bit of bird watching right in camp. You could also get in touch with local communities on a visit to a nearby village to learn about the region's various cultures and lifestyles.

Today you will board a charter flight to Savute Elephant Camp in the famous Chobe National Park. Relax on the large viewing deck with a drink in hand and gaze over the now-flowing Savute Channel where thirsty animals come for a drink. Spend a quiet evening in the traditional boma and enjoy a delicious meal while gazing at the stars above.

As the camp's name suggests, this area is home to large herds of elephant. Go on game drives to view them up close, but also keep an eye out for the resident prides of lions, packs of hyenas and the rare African wild dog. Alternatively, join an excursion to view original San rock paintings on one of the hills that dot this flat landscape.

Today you will board a charter flight to Maun and catch your connecting flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival you will be transferred to The Westcliff where you will spend a relaxing evening after your safari.

After a delicious breakfast you'll be transferred to Capital Park Station, the home of Rovos Rail in Pretoria. Offering a most elegant way to enjoy the dynamic scenery of South Africa, this luxury train journey will contrast strikingly with your Botswana safari experience.

Settle into your cabin and sit back for two days of meandering through the South African countryside, relaxing in the viewing lounge, enjoying gourmet meals in the restaurant car or catching up on some sleep as you make your lazy way to Cape Town.

Enjoy one more breakfast on the train before it arrives in Cape Town around late morning. Here you'll be met and transferred to the timelessly elegant Mount Nelson Hotel - famous around the world for its pink-painted buildings and colonial ambience.

The city of Cape Town is simply bursting with things to see and do over the next few days: take the cable car up iconic Table Mountain and view the city and surrounding mountains from above, enjoy a trip to historic Robben Island or venture out to the nearby Cape Winelands to sample some world-class wine.

With so many beautiful beaches to choose from, a trip to one of these is definitely recommended. A visit to the V&A Waterfront is also a wonderful way to do a bit of shopping and enjoy seafood while you look out over the harbour.
