Enjoy this scenic 3-day luxury Rovos Rail journey between Pretoria and Durban.

Travelling between Pretoria and Durban, this Rovos Rail luxury tour takes in the spectacular Drakensberg Escarpment, before skirting the border of the Kruger National Park, and stopping at the Mkhaya Reserve in Swaziland where you will enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Set off from Pretoria by train

On arrival at Pretoria’s Capital Park Station, you are treated to champagne before embarking on your luxury Rovos Rail journey. Your day will be spent on board the prestigious Rovos Rail luxury steam train as you travel down the Drakensberg Escarpment.

A brief stop in Waterval Onder precedes dinner in the elegant dining car. Your journey continues to Malelane on the border of the Kruger National Park, where the train will stop for the night.

Day 2

Go game viewing in Swaziland

Dig into a delicious breakfast in the dining car as the stunning Kruger National Park goes past. Proceed towards Swaziland, where you’ll enjoy an exciting afternoon game drive in the Mkhaya Reserve after lunch. Return to the train in time for dinner before you depart for the Hluhluwe Game Reserve in Zululand.

Day 3

End your journey in Durban

This morning you’ll go on a game drive in the famous Hluhluwe Game Reserve as you search for members of the Big 5 and both black and white rhino. Return to the train for brunch before continuing through the spectacular KwaZulu Natal province, arriving in Durban around midday.
