Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-3

Explore the vibrant Cape Town

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you'll collect your rental vehicle and drive to Cellars-Hohenort, an elegant estate hidden away in the beautiful and historic Constantia Wine Valley. Alternatively, Go2Africa will arrange to collect you at the airport, transfer you and drop your rental car off at your cottage.

Cellars-Hohenort is the perfect place from which to start your wine tasting journey - close to Cape Town but far away enough to offer a tranquil countryside ambience. And when you're not enjoying the wines, cuisine and mountain views on the estate, you can set out to discover the many fascinating attractions that Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula have to offer.

From cultural and historical tours to fashionable cafes and stores, the Mother City has it all: shop at the ever-popular V&A Waterfont, visit Cape Point and the Boulders Beach penguin colony, wander along the Camps Bay beachfront, hike or take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain and eat out at one of Cape Town's top restaurants.

Days 4-5

Explore Robertson and its surrounds

Today you will leave the city behind as you take the outrageously scenic Route 62 to Robertson, a charming little town known for its excellent wines and rose gardens. Arrive at The Robertson Small Hotel, ideally located for exploring the towns and wine farms of the region.

Settle in and try a few of the wines made in and around Robertson before driving up to Montagu the following day and enjoying a tractor ride into the Langeberg Mountains - an area offering plenty of picturesque spots for a romantic picnic lunch.

Return via Bonnievale to sample local cheeses and more exquisite wines and remember to look out for the striking rock formations of Cogman's Kloof as you head back to Robertson.

Days 6-7

Taste wine in the beautiful Overberg

Today you will travel along winding country roads as you enter the stunning Overberg region, a place of mountains, farmland and big skies. Drive past local villages to the town of Swellendam and De Kloof Luxury Estate, a beautiful and historic guesthouse offering spectacular mountain views and warm, personal service.

The Overberg is steeped in a rich history and culture and its natural beauty is truly remarkable. This, combined with the many world-class wine estates in the area, makes the region a favourite winelands destination. Spend your two days here exploring the area and trying its local wines.

Days 8-9

Enjoy the finer things in Franschhoek

Today you'll take a leisurely drive to the town of Franschhoek, the gourmet capital of South Africa, and one of the most popular towns in the Cape Winelands.

This region presents the perfect opportunity to discover more fantastic local wines to accompany your delectable meals. Visit the award-winning La Motte estate and soak up the spectacular views from nearby Mont Rochelle as you spend your days discovering the various estates in and around this charming and stylish town.

Make some time to wander along the main street and visit some of the many cafes and fashionable boutiques to indulge in the atmosphere of this historic French Huguenot town.

Days 10

Return to Cape Town

Today you will bid wine country farewell as you drive back to Cape Town International Airport and return your rental vehicle before catching your connecting flight home.

This holiday would combine easily and attractively with a Big 5 Kruger safari or Indian Ocean beach holiday: contact your Go2Africa travel expert to make all the arrangements.
