Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-2

Jet into Nairobi

Your adventure begins today as you meet a representative in Nairobi and transfer to Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park for your first night in Africa. Arrive at your camp just in time for lunch after which you can relax, unwind and take in the beautiful surroundings.

This is probably the world's most unique national park - a place where you can photograph families of giraffe placidly nibbling acacia trees with modern glass skyscrapers in the background!

Days 2-4

Explore the Amboseli wilderness

Your adventure continues today as you transfer to Ambesoli Porini Camp in the Selenkay Conservation Area. Your days will consist of waking up bright and early for breakfast, followed by a morning game drive in Amboseli National Park. Enjoy a picnic in the heart of the wilderness before heading back to camp to spend the hottest part of the day relaxing.

Head out again in the late afternoon to explore the Selenkay Conservancy, stopping at a scenic location for sundowner drinks. After watching the sun disappear behind the horizon, you will set out on a night game drive to spot nocturnal wildlife such as aardvark, caracal and bat-eared fox.

Days 4-6

Track lions in Ol Pejeta

After an early breakfast you will drive through Amboseli to an airstrip for your flight to Wilson Airport and your connecting flight to Nanyuki, where you be met and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the foothills of Mount Kenya.

Settle in and recharge with a delicious lunch and afternoon tea at the camp before heading off on an afternoon safari in search of rhino. Be guided by experienced, armed rangers as you search for these highly endangered animals.

The next day, explore the Ol Pejeta Conservancy further as you enjoy more thrilling game drives and guided walking safaris from camp. Ol Pejeta is home to an abundance of wildlife that includes Africa's famous Big 5 so keep your eyes peeled for these and other creatures.

Days 6-8

Arrive in the Masai Mara

After breakfast you will be met and transferred from Porini Rhino back to Nanyuki where you will catch your flight to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Once here, you will be transferred to Porini Lion Camp in time for lunch and afternoon tea. Go on a late afternoon nature walk or game drive followed by a sundowner drink and spotlit night drive before returning to Porini Lion Camp for dinner.

The next day is dedicated solely to exploring the rolling savannahs of the Mara on a full-day game drive. Find a scenic spot for a delicious picnic lunch and return to camp in the late afternoon to spend one last night at Porini Lion Camp.

Days 8-9

Into Arusha's coffee farms

Leave the Mara behind as you enjoy a flight and road transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge near Tarangire National Park. Arusha is surrounded by lush coffee plantations and you will awake to probably the freshest cuppa of your live after a very comfortable night's sleep. There are plenty of ways to explore the farmland surrounding the lodge, from hiking to mountain-biking trails.

Days 9-11

Discover Tarangire

Leave Arusha behind as you enjoy a flight and road transfer to Oliver's Camp in Tarangire National Park. Dinner will be waiting when you arrive, after which you can retire to your room for a good night's sleep to energise you for tomorrow's game-viewing activities.

For many, Oliver's Camp epitomises a classic safari camp experience and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. With only eight tents, you can expect privacy and unobtrusive personal service as you enjoy two nights here.

You will also explore the Tarangire National Park and see how life thrives around sources of water. Embark on game drives in prime game-viewing areas and watch as wildlife gathers near waterholes - with predators waiting in ambush! Return to camp for a hearty dinner.

Days 11-13

Lakes and craters

Today you will head to Gibb's Farm, which is also set on a fertile coffee plantation in the forested highlands near Ngorongoro Crater. Once again, you can expect easy hospitality, home-style cooking and beautiful views over the gardens. You could also make an appointment at the African Living Spa for a relaxing massage or Maasai-inspired treatment.

On your second day, you will descend into the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and home to an incredibly dense population of wildlife. Explore the crater floor and discover its constrasting landscapes as you search for animals like lion, rhino and numerous other species that make the crater their home - many visitors see the all of the Big 5 on a single drive.

Days 13-16

Game drives in the Serengeti

You end your Tanzanian vacation at the Big One: the unsurpassed Serengeti, possibly the most famous wildlife area in Africa. You will be transferred from Gibb's Farm to Sayari, a luxurious tented camp in the northern Serengeti that is open from June to March every year. The camp has excellent proximity to the Mara River and, if you are travelling at mid-year, you may be lucky enough to see thousands of migrating wildebeest cross over into the Masai Mara.

But no matter what time of year you visit, the Serengeti always delivers exciting game drives across the seemingly never-ending plains. Once you are back at camp, relax with a drink around the fire, swapping game-drive stories and listening to the sounds of the night.

On your last day, enjoy one final breakfast at Sayari before making your way back to Kilimanjaro International Airport for you flight home.
