Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Livingstone

Today you will arrive at Livingstone Airport in Zambia where a short transfer will take you to Toka Leya, a beautiful camp set on the banks of the Zambezi River and near the world famous spectacle of Victoria Falls. Enjoy sweeping views of the river and its beautiful forested banks before settling into your riverside safari-style tent.

Day 2

Discover Toka Leya and Victoria Falls

The activities at the lodge naturally centre around the river and include canoeing, river cruises and fishing. You can also go on exciting game drives in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park where you will be introduced to the area's wildlife - look out for animals like elephant, buffalo, giraffe, impala and zebra. There is also excellent birdlife for avid bird enthusiasts.

A visit to Victoria Falls is of course part of your experience here and if you are feeling really daring, you can take a further tour of the Falls via helicopter or microlight.

After a long day of exploring, cool off in Toka Leya's refreshing pool or relax in the lodge's comfortable lounge area.

Days 3-5

Glide Down the Chobe River

Today you will transfer across the border to the village of Kasane in Botswana and then onto the Chobe River where you will board the Zambezi Queen, a luxury houseboat moored on the river.

Spend the next three days floating gently down the Chobe River (water level dependant) while you soak up the luxury: relax in the lounge area or beside the plunge pool.

But the focus is also on wildlife: during the May to October dry season, the Chobe River becomes one of Africa's top game viewing destinations and you'll be heading out on 4X4 game drives in the Chobe National Park as well as motorboat excursions in search of Chobe's famously huge elephant and buffalo herds. The area has a long list of classic African animals and all the major predators, and the bird watching is phenomenal.

Spend your evenings relaxing on board and enjoying dinner on the panoramic top deck. There's also the opportunity to do some wonderful stargazing after dinner with the use of a computerised telescope.

Day 6

Transfer via a road transfer from Kasane back to Livingstone Airport where your connecting flight awaits you.
