Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to the Serena Mountain Village Arusha, a superior hotel situated in the heart of a coffee plantation just outside of Arusha.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the shore of Lake Duluti, or canoeing on its waters. Hire a mountain bike or walk through the neighbouring coffee plantations, or head into Arusha to visit the many craft markets and shops.

Days 2-3

Visit Lake Manyara National Park

Leave Arusha after breakfast and pass by the many picturesque villages and maize, coffee and banana plantations in the Maasai Steppe. Arrive at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge, your accommodation for the next 2 nights. Take in the stunning views of the distant Lake Manyara from your lodge perched on the edge of the Rift Valley.

In the afternoon, you’ll head out into this fascinating wildlife park for a game drive and the chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions and other wildlife.

The next morning you’ll set off on an exciting bush walk with the lodge's naturalist before returning for a delectable breakfast. In the afternoon, you’ll head out on another exciting game drive.

Days 4-5

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy breakfast before heading out across the Great Rift Valley. You’ll travel past the beautiful Lake Manyara, the village of Karatu, and the rich Tanzanian farmlands as you make your way to Gibb’s Farm. Enjoy lunch here before taking an afternoon tour of the farm and a nearby village. Set out again as you make your way to Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, situated on the rim of the crater and offering spectacular views of the crater floor.

The next day, you’ll depart after breakfast to explore the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and also one of the world's seven natural wonders – the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor is comprised of several distinct habitats, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes, and is home to a spectacular variety and density of wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way, and return to the camp in the evening.

Days 6-7

Game drive in the Serengeti

In the morning you’ll enjoy breakfast before you travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation area to the renowned Serengeti National Park. Stop along the way for a picnic lunch and game drive en route to the exclusive Kirawira Tented Camp.

Spend the next day on morning and afternoon game drives on the vast plains of the Serengeti. Keep your eyes open for the Big 5 and the variety and abundance of other animals. Depending on your chosen travel dates, you may even witness the annual wildebeest migration (between the months of July and November).
