Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Overnight in Nairobi

Upon arrival in Nairobi, transfer to the centrally-located Intercontinental Hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure, relaxing by the pool, exploring some markets, or heading out to visit the house of the famous Karen Blixen.

Days 2-3

Enter the Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast at the Nairobi Safari Club you’ll drive north past beautiful scenery, dotted with rushing mountain streams and tea and coffee plantations, to the relaxing Samburu Lodge on the Uaso Nyiro River. Settle into your en suite room before enjoying your first afternoon game drive through the Samburu Game Reserve searching for the wide variety of wildlife.

The Samburu is home to large herds of elephant, antelope, and several types of predator. Apart from exciting game drives, you can also go on birding walks, see tribal dance performances, and even experience a crocodile feeding session.

Day 4

Experience the Aberdare Mountains

In the morning, you’ll transfer south, into the forests of the Aberdare Mountain range and on to the historic Tree-tops Lodge. Dedicated to game viewing, the lodge rises out of the ground on stilts and overlooks a waterhole and a salt lick. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge or on either the rooftop or underground viewing platform where you can watch as the wildlife come to the waterhole to drink.

Day 5

Enjoy the views of Lake Nakuru

Get up early today, and drive to the peaceful retreat of Lake Nakuru Lodge. Set in the Lake Nakuru National Park, the lodge offers exceptional views of this diverse wildlife reserve which is famous for its large rhino and predator populations, buffalo, and of course, the pink flamingos on the lake shores.

Return to the lodge after a fascinating game drive where you’ll enjoy a refreshing sundowner at the Rhino Paddock Cocktail Bar, or perhaps even a nice cooling dip in the swimming pool. A delicious bush barbecue is served in the dining area, or outside under the stars.

Days 6-7

Enter the Masai Mara

After a delectable breakfast you'll drive across the Rift Valley to Keekorok Lodge in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Following lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive to explore this famous reserve. Drinks are served at the lodge as the sun sets. Situated right on the annual wildebeest migration route, the lodge is perfectly situated for a spectacular view of this phenomenon.

The Masai Mara offers fantastic wildlife viewing all year round, with species including the Big 5, various predators and large herds of plains game. Explore these vast plains and the abundant wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives.
