Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Experience the Victoria Falls

Today is spent relaxing or enjoying the fantastic variety of optional excursions in and around Victoria Falls.

Victoria Falls is one of the most breathtaking sights on the African continent, and adrenaline junkies are invited to bungee from the Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia or abseil down the Batoka Gorge. Boarding a "float" in the Batoka Gorge will give you time to admire the scenic cliffs and wildlife on the riverbanks, but if you're up for another dose of excitement, the white-water rafting on offer here is on par with the best in the world.

All year round, flights can be taken from the falls in fixed wing planes, micro lights or helicopters, offering a spectacular panoramic view and incredible photo opportunities.

Day 2

Be immersed in the Chobe National Park

Cross the border into Botswana and drive to Kasane, situated on the banks of the Chobe River. The river forms a border between Botswana, Namibia and Zambia and is the main water source for the Chobe National Park. Enjoy lunch before going on a boat cruise along the river that offers sightings of hippo and elephant against the banks.

In the evening, you’ll head out into the park for an overnight mobile excursion in the wilderness. After a late afternoon game drive you'll spend the evening drinking in the surrounds and listening to the sounds of the wilderness.

Day 3

See a different view of the Falls

Today you’ll travel to Livingstone via the small town of Kasane. From here you will have another opportunity to view the thundering Falls, this time from Zambia's side in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Enjoy a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River before spending the night in Livingstone.

Day 4

Traverse across southern Zambia

An early morning sees you heading north through southern Zambia, passing local villages and towns along the way. Continue to the outskirts of Lusaka and camp in an area where you will find a host of African wildlife.

Day 5

Sit back and enjoy the Zambian landscapes

Your journey continues as you head north east on a road that used to be the main route between Cape Town and Cairo. Known as the Old East Road, this road will lead you through Lusaka and across the Luangwa River Bridge. Stop to purchase fresh produce from the local vendors before heading on to the Mamarula Campsite in Chipata where you'll spend your last night in Zambia.

Days 6-9

Explore the beaches of Lake Malawi

Drive the last 10km before crossing the border into the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ - Malawi. Make a quick stop at the capital of Lilongwe before continuing on to Lake Malawi - a large fresh water lake that covers 20% of Malawi's surface area.

As you travel along the lake, drink in the pristine surroundings and spend hours relaxing on the beaches and swimming in the clear, blue waters. Meet the local fisherman and take a ride in their traditional dug-out canoes or scour the local markets for a bargain. Choose from a wide range of water sports or go on a horse-back ride.

Camp on the beaches at night and look out over the lake to see the twinkling lights of the fishermen’s boats.

Day 10

Enjoy a local delicacy

After spending four days relaxing and rejuvenating at Lake Malawi, you’ll head to Tanzania. Wind your way through the picturesque Tukuyu tea and banana plantations as you head to Iringa. Spend the night in a farmhouse styled campsite and enjoy Amarula hot chocolate - a local favourite.

Day 11

Reach the Tanzanian coast

After an early start you'll make your way to the East Coast of Africa. Pass through the Mikumi National Park on the way and have the opportunity to view wildlife from the roadside as they graze impervious of the passing traffic. Enter the bustling city of Dar es Salaam, with its colourful shop fronts and vibrant suburbs. Make your way to a scenic seaside campsite and prepare to depart for Zanzibar the next morning.

Days 12-14

Immerse yourself in the vibrance of Zanzibar

In the morning, you’ll board a ferry to the island of Zanzibar. Accommodation and meals will be on your own account during this time.

If you're not spending hours relaxing on the pristine, unspoilt beaches and swimming in the warm, Indian Ocean then you can take a stroll through the old Stone Town and marvel at the Medina-like shop fronts and the palaces of Sultans. Going on a spice excursion will give you insight into this lively trade and bring you to these scenic plantations. I

f you feel like exploring the more remote parts of the island, why not hire a moped and go on a self-guided adventure? A full day of scuba-diving in Nungwe will introduce you to the island's abundant marine life while a visit to Prison Island will have you marvelling at the giant tortoises.

In the evening, sit down for some amazing, locally caught seafood and stare over the quiet ocean.

Day 15

Reach the end of the road

Spend one last morning cramming in activities or taking a final dip in the clear ocean before heading back to Dar es Salaam where your tour will come to an end.
