Admire the contemporary South African artwork displayed in the house or embrace the culture of Cape Town by taking a walk down to the National Gallery. Visit one of the many fascinating museums like the District 6 or South African Jewish Museum.

Enjoy an exquisite meal at one of the many fine restaurants before you enjoy a night at the Baxter Theatre, Kalk Bay Theatre or the Theatre on the Bay.

Take the cable car up Table Mountain, go shopping at the V&A Waterfront, relax on the white beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton, or browse the many trendy shops, restaurants and street cafes located in De Waterkant, the Bo Kaap, Gardens or the bustling Long Street.

Days 4-5

Experience the finer things in Swellendam

Today you'll take a leisurely drive up to the charming farm town of Swellendam. Settle in at Schoone Oordt and spend the following two nights in this stunning haven, a restored national monument with beautiful gardens and hidden woodlands.

Take a dip in the glistening swimming pool or unwind on a shaded deckchair as you sip a delicious cocktail. Alternatively, head out to explore the surrounding area.

Swellendam boasts a vibrant country life and forms an excellent base from which to explore the Garden Route and Overberg area and the surrounding Winelands. Visit De Hoop Nature Reserve, Cape Agulhas - where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet - Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve, Marloth Nature Reserve and Bontebok Park.

Avid golfers can play a quick game on the superb 9-hole golf course overlooking the Hermitage Valley, while the more adventurous can kayak on the Buffeljags Dam or explore the Langeberg Mountains on horseback.

Pick and nibble on your own berries after tasting delicious berry liqueurs and jams at a nearby youngberry farm, visit renowned wine estates and the legendary Faerie Sanctuary.
