Classic Garden Route Scheduled Tour

Leave Cape Town this morning and head north-east through the Huguenot Tunnel and along the stunningly scenic Route 62. You’ll pass a series of diverse and incredibly beautiful landscapes on your way to Barrydale where you’ll stop for lunch (at your own expense). Continue eastward towards Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the South Africa. Make a stop in the afternoon and visit one of the famous Ostrich farms in the area.

Begin your day with a tour of the Cango Caves. These massive, beautiful caves stretch for several miles and are deservedly one of the most popular attractions in the area. As you make your way to the small town of Knysna, you’ll travel over the scenic Outeniqua Mountain Pass and through the quaint towns of George and Wilderness.

Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Knysna Waterfront before you embark on an adventurous cruise out to the beautiful Knynsa Heads on board the Three Legs Rivercat. With its lush green surroundings and gentle waters, Knysna is one of the Garden Route's best known travel destinations.

Spend the rest of the afternoon in this quaint coastal town before heading to Hog Hollow Country Lodge, situated between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.

Following a leisurely breakfast, you’ll head over to the Knysna Elephant Sanctuary for a visit. Here you will learn the history of Knysna's elephant population, and then have the opportunity to get up close and personal with these majestic beasts. Touch, feed and photograph them without any fencing or barriers to spoil the encounter.

After lunch, travel to Plettenberg Bay for a visit to the Garden Route's very own world-class free-flight bird sanctuary, Birds of Eden. There is also an optional whale and dolphin experience in the sheltered, warm waters around Plettenberg Bay. Stay for dinner or return to the lodge for dinner.

An early start takes you to the end of the Tsitsikamma National Park. Known as ‘the place of much water’, the heartland of the park stretches some 5km down to the sea, protecting an amazing array of inter-tidal life, reef and deep-sea fish.

Watch dolphins as they swim and play among the breakers, walk along the suspension bridge that crosses the Storms River gorge, hike some of the amazing trails that cut through the national park, or sit on the shore and watch for the Southern Right whales that come here to breed.

Continue on to Port Elizabeth where you will be dropped off either at the airport for your scheduled flight or at your hotel.
