Rovos Rail Golf Safari

Depart the classic 1940’s-style Capital Park Railway Station just north of Pretoria as you head east towards Nelspruit and the picturesque Lowveld region.

Enjoy the views from the large windows of the Observation Car, catch up with your reading in the Lounge Car, and take advantage of the delicious fine dining in the beautifully restored Dining Car.

After breakfast, you’ll tee off at the Leopard Creek Country Club's 18-hole golf course. This championship golf course borders the Kruger National Park resulting in wildlife often being spotted on the course.

If you are not a golfer, depart at 9am, after breakfast, for an exciting game drive in the Kruger National Park. This is followed by lunch, before returning in time to meet up with the golfers and continue your journey to Swaziland.

Today sees you playing a round at the magnificent Royal Swazi Club in Swaziland. Those not playing golf can head to the Ngewenya Glass Factory and witness firsthand the magical art of glass-blowing. This is followed by lunch at Malandelas Farmhouse Restaurant and Pub. Next, make your way to Mkhaya Game Reserve, known for its excellent rhino population.

Get an early start this morning as you set off at 6am on an early morning game drive in Hluhluwe Game Reserve - a beautiful wilderness reserve in KwaZulu Natal. By 10:30am you are on the Rovos luxury train again, heading for the east coast city of Durban where you will have a wonderful dinner at one of the city's excellent restaurants.

Today the golfers will tee off at Durban Beachwood Country Club at 8am. Those not playing golf can go on a city tour of Durban, followed by lunch at the Durban Beachwood Country Club, before returning to the train.

The golfers can take in the majestic mountain scenery as they play the course at Champagne Sports Resort in the beautiful Drakensberg region. For the non-golfer, today offers a walk around the Champagne Sports Resort or a professional and informative tour of the Battlefields near Ladysmith, followed by a spot of shopping. Meet up with the golfers, and rejoin the Rovos luxury train to continue the journey.

Depart Ladysmith early in the morning and spend the day at leisure aboard the luxurious Rovos train. Watch the picturesque landscapes pass by as you head to Sun City.

Be challenged today as you tee off at the Gary Player Country Club at 9am. This course provides a challenging round to all levels of player and is set in Sun City’s spectacular grounds.

As a non-golfer, you have the chance to explore all that Sun City has to offer. There will be a late lunch for both golfers and non-golfers served at the Club, followed by a game drive in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.

Travel back to Pretoria today as you make the short journey back to Capital Park Station.
