Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Fly from Windhoek to Etosha

Arrive in Windhoek and transfer to the Eros Airport for your flight to the renowned Etosha National Park. From the Mokuti Airstrip, you'll drive to the luxurious Onguma Plains Camp.

This fantastic camp, located just outside of Etosha's Von Lindquist Gate, is set on a 20 000ha reserve boasting over 30 different animal species including six protected and monitored black rhino, and the largest breeding colony of white-backed vultures in Namibia.

Day 2

Explore the Etosha National Park

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting out into the Etosha National Park for your first game drive. The park is defined by the vast Etosha Pan, a shallow depression over 5000km2, and is known for its large elephant herds, thousands of springbok and resident lion prides. You may even spot a black rhino or the rare black-faced impala, both endangered and protected species.

Enjoy pit-stops at the Park camps; Namutoni's historical tower is great for a view of the surrounding area, and Okaukuejo's waterhole regularly attracts elephant, giraffe and zebra.

Day 3

Head up the Skeleton Coast

After a delicious breakfast, board your flight up the spectacular Skeleton Coast to the remote Kaokoland. Arrive at Okahirongo Purros Elephant Lodge and be amazed by the striking mountain backdrops and the rugged landscapes. The lodge is set in Purros Conservancy and shares this place with the semi-nomadic Himba tribe. Okahirongo is all about luxury, with large en suite bathrooms featuring a bath tub with a view and contemporary Italian and African-style cuisine.

The Kaokoland is also the only place in the world where elephant, black rhino, giraffe and lion all live in a desert area, making game viewing a truly unique experience.

Day 4

Track desert elephants in the Namib

Explore the rugged desert wilderness of the Kaokoland today by tracking desert elephants, enjoying game drives in open-air 4x4 vehicles, heading out on a desert walk, and even visiting a local Himba village for the opportunity to interact with some of the local community.

This day is totally dedicated to experiencing the desert wilderness of Kaokoland and the Skeleton Coast - both hidden gems of northern Namibia.

Day 5

See ancient rock engravings

Leave the vast Skeleton Coast behind and fly to the rugged and rocky Damaraland for a night at the Mowani Mountain Camp in the Twyfelfontein Conservancy. This unique camp is situated among giant boulders on the hillside and offers spectacular views of the valley below.

Enjoy a relaxed lunch and an afternoon siesta before an early evening excursion to the ancient rock engravings of Twyfelfontein. Return for drinks on the pool deck as you admire the striking Namibian sunset, before retiring to the dining tent for some fine cuisine.

Day 6

Have lunch in Swakopmund

Sit down to a hearty breakfast and then board a charter flight to the quaint coastal town of Swakopmund. Enjoy a leisurely lunch (own account) before flying to the fantastic Wolwedans Dunes Lodge situated in the heart of the NamibRand Nature Reserve.

Wolwedans is uniquely designed with wooden platforms, large canvas blinds and stylish furniture complementing the striking panoramic views.

Day 7

Follow the bushman hunting grounds

Set out into the NamibRand dunes on morning and afternoon drives that provide views of the mountain formations and endless grassy plains, as well as encounters with some of the desert animals.

Explore the ancient hunting grounds of the Bushmen and enjoy the quiet tranquillity of your surroundings. If you'd like to spend the whole day out in the reserve then a picnic lunch can be arranged for you to enjoy in the heart of the desert.

Return to the lodge at dusk in time for sundowners and dinner under the Namibian sky.

Day 8

Fly back to Windhoek

Wake to the spectacular scenery and enjoy an early morning tea on your private deck. Transfer to the airstrip after breakfast for your return flight to Windhoek International Airport in time for your outbound flight.
