Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-4

Explore the Mother City

After arriving in the Mother City, collect your hire car and travel to Welgelegen Guesthouse, a stylish Victorian guesthouse conveniently situated in Cape Town's City Bowl.

Welgelegen is within a short drive of many of the city's main attractions: hike or take a cable car ride up Table Mountain, check out the ever-popular V&A Waterfront and learn more about South African culture on a tour through one of the many museums. You'll also have plenty of time to fit in a peninsula tour as well.

Alternatively, you can laze on Camps Bay beach, take a trip to Seal Island in Hout Bay and enjoy the taste of Africa at one of Cape Town's many excellent restaurants.

Days 5-6

Taste authentic South African wine

Drive yourself from Cape Town to The River Manor Boutique Hotel and Spa, located in the heart of Stellenbosch on the wine route. This luxury country hotel is situated just two minutes from Stellenbosch's CBD which is steeped in history and features many magnificent Victorian and Dutch-styled buildings to view as you stroll around.

During your two-night stay, why not visit the local wineries in the area and do some wine tasting before enjoying a relaxing treatment at River Manor's Spa.

Days 7-9

Encounter lions up close in the Kruger

Drive to Cape Town International Airport and board a flight to Hoedspruit Airport via Johannesburg where you'll be met and transferred by road to the luxurious Arathusa Safari Lodge in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve.

Enjoy three nights at this small, family-run lodge overlooking a permanent waterhole with resident hippos.

Explore this legendary wildlife-packed reserve on morning, afternoon and early evening game drives in search of members of the Big 5, all of which can be seen in the area. The bird watching is excellent and there are plenty of smaller animals too. Between game drives, go on a bush walk with your guide and learn more about the finer points of the Kruger's ecosystem.
