Today you will arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will collect your rental car and drive to Camps Bay, one of Cape Town's fashionable Atlantic Ocean suburbs. Settle into your fully-serviced, private apartment at The Crystal and sit back on the balcony with a drink in hand as you take in stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Table Mountain range.

Enjoy luxurious, elegant independent living over the next four days: you have a glorious golden sand beach on your doorstep as well as a range of sidewalk cafes and restaurants.

Make the most of your self-drive independence and explore this incredible city at your own pace. Hike or take an exciting cable car ride up Table Mountain, go shopping at the V&A Waterfront and vibrant Long and Kloof Streets, or visit the city's museums and art galleries. A boat trip to Robben Island will take you to the prison where Nelson Mandela was once held and a drive along the scenic Cape Peninsula will take you to dramatic Cape Point via the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Visit one of Camps Bay's restaurants for dinner or head into town for a table at one of Cape Town's many elegant, top-class restaurants.

Today you will set off for the ever-scenic Cape Winelands where you'll spend the following four nights at The Auberg Clermont Guest House, located in South Africa's gourmet capital - Franschhoek. Set in a beautiful garden with a tennis court and swimming pool, this country-style guesthouse offers a contrasting yet equally luxurious place to relax and unwind after all the action at Camps Bay.

Pick up a picnic lunch and take a walk down to the river for a lazy afternoon under the trees or set off to visit local wine estates to taste their exceptional wines. Return to the charming town after a long day exploring the Winelands and dine in style at one of Franschhoek's award-winning restaurants.

Today you will say goodbye to the Winelands and drive along the beautiful Garden Route to the scenic coastal town of Knysna. You'll be staying at The Lofts for the following two nights, a quaint boutique hotel hidden away in a boatshed on Thesen Island.

These days can be spent not only indulging in luxurious spa treatments and enjoying the views over beautiful Knysna Lagoon but also exploring the town and its mountainous, forested surroundings, not to mention all the fabulous beaches of the area. There is a huge range of family-friendly activities close by - children will love Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and the Elephant Sanctuary.

Drive out to see the renowned Knysna Heads or the Featherbed Reserve, a stunning private nature conservation area and one of South Africa's premier Natural Heritage Sites. The adventure junkies will enjoy abseiling or sky diving while the more relaxed at heart can simply lounge on one of the pristine beaches.

This morning you will leave Knysna and drive to The Singing Kettle Lodge, a stunning seaside home just outside Plettenberg Bay. Overlooking the breathtaking Keurbooms beach, this elegant lodge will be your home for the following two nights.

Spend time with the family as you relax on the beach and tuck into the delicious food served at the restaurant situated below the lodge.

You'll enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at The Singing Kettle and the fact that it is a perfect lookout point for spotting dolphins and whales, the latter that visit the area every year between July and November. Enjoy a fascinating Marine Encounters tour, included in your itinerary.

A short drive will take you into the lively town of Plettenberg Bay where you can do some shopping and taste a bit of nightlife.

Your last stop for the tour is the Eastern Cape and Kariega Family Lodge - a comfortable home located in the malaria-free Kariega Game Reserve near Port Elizabeth.

Besides the morning and afternoon game drives in search of the Big 5 and other animals like hippo, giraffe, zebra, you and your family can take part in a range of fun activities such as mountain biking, fly-fishing, horseback riding and river cruises - many of these catering specially for the youngsters.

Your tour comes to an end this morning as you head out for one last early morning safari before driving to Port Elizabeth to drop off your car and connect with your onward travel arrangements.
