overview

Combine two of Southern Africa's most dramatic destinations on this short but intense safari adventure, an ideal add-on to a longer holiday itinerary or as a stand-alone special occasion.

Begin your journey close to thundering Victoria Falls with a stay at the high-end Tongabezi Lodge on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Spend your time exploring the safari hub of the Victoria Falls region - there are game drives into Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park on offer as well as the obligatory visit to Victoria Falls, but there's also a long list of other activities that range from bungee jumping and whitewater rafting to elephant-back safaris and sunset river cruises.

Next, you'll transfer to next-door Botswana and Chobe Game Lodge in search of big game in the legendary Chobe National Park - home to Southern Africa's largest elephant populations as well as huge herds of buffalo, many antelope species and all the major predators. Besides exciting game drives you can also enjoy pampering spa treatments and a romantic sunset cruise down the Chobe River.

Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-3

Encounter thundering Vic Falls

Arrive at Livingstone Airport where you will be met and transferred to Tongabezi Lodge on the forested banks of the Zambezi River. Check in and settle into your room - you'll be spending three nights at this fully-inclusive lodge.

After taking in the views of the Zambezi River from the lodge, take a trip down to Victoria Falls and experience 'The Smoke That Thunders' before enjoying one of the many adventure activities on offer. Top of the list are activities such as whitewater rafting and bungee jumping but there are all sorts of safari adventures too - head out on game drives, birding trips, canoe safaris or even fit in an elephant-back safari.

Make sure you spend time on the river too - enjoy motorboat safaris and sunset river cruises, a taste of what's to come in Chobe.

Days 4-5

Search for elephants in Chobe

Transfer by road to the village of Kasane in Botswana and arrive at Chobe Game Lodge, the only riverside accommodation located in the Chobe National Park itself.

You're in prime game viewing country here and at no time more so than during the dry winter months from June to October. Spend the next few days on exciting morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles. Chobe is renowned for its elephants - the biggest population in Southern Africa - and the area is packed with general game. If you visit in the late dry season, expect sensational game viewing while the bird watching is excellent all year round.

You can also experience the thrills of a guided walking safari or even visit one of the nearby villages for a cultural interaction.

Day 6

Your adventure safari comes to an end after breakfast today as you transfer by road to Kasane Airport to catch your outbound flight.
