Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-4

One of the world’s most beautiful cities

Situated in one of Cape Town’s most convenient and prettiest city neighbourhoods, you will check into a 2-bedroom apartment at More Quarters, ideal if you are travelling with young child or perhaps a parent. Having such spacious accommodation will make you feel right at home, with the added perks of room service, babysitting and gym membership

More Quarters is within walking distance to the vibrant city centre, the Company’s Gardens and exciting Kloof and Long Streets, which are a treasure trove of boutiques, galleries, cafes and restaurants. Once you have found your bearings, it is easy to venture slightly further afield: take the cable car to the summit of Table Mountain, walk up Lion’s Head, indulge in some retail therapy at the world-famous V&A Waterfront or soak up the African sun on Camps Bay beach.

The truly adventurous are spoilt for choice: be enchanted by the endangered African penguins at Boulders Beach, whizz over the Constantia Winelands on a zipline, or visit Cape Point to see where two oceans meet. As always, you comfortable apartment and view of Table Mountain is waiting for you at the end of another perfect day.

Days 4-7

The rhythms of bush life

From the city to the bush: a short flight whisks you from Cape Town to Johannesburg, and another sees you landing at Hoedspruit for the drive to Timbavati Game Reserve in the Kruger National Park. You will be surrounded by Africa as she once was: hyenas crying out at night, fish eagles calling in the morning and the Big 5 living as they always have.

Ngala Tented Camp consists of just six sumptuous suites and prides itself on superb service and gourmet dining experiences, next to the gentle Timbavati River. You soon slip into the pattern of ‘bush life’: being woken at dawn with hot coffee, bundling up for your morning game drive, taking brunch on the deck, savouring cocktails as the sun sets and recalling it all around the crackling fire under a proverbial blanket of stars.

Your tented suite is so comfortable it may be difficult to believe you are ‘camping’. There is air conditioning, Internet connectivity, a communal swimming pool and deck and an enticing private outdoor shower.

Days 7-8

Life’s a peach!

It is back to Johannesburg where you spend a night at The Peech in Melrose, one of the city’s trendiest and most upscale neighbourhoods.

A classic boutique hotel, The Peech is ideal for unwinding after the early mornings of safari: stroll through the art gallery, sip a glass of bubbly in the champagne bar and enjoy dinner in the Bistro before turning in for your final night on South Africa: tomorrow, you fly to the beach paradise of untouched Mozambique.

Days 8-13

Idyllic Inhambane

Snorkelling, diving, swimming, sunbathing, kayaking… whatever beach activity you prefer, Massinga Beach Lodge is the place to indulge!

The warm Indian Ocean beckons as do famous dive sites like ‘Fingers’. There is a fully equipped PADI centre, a private beach and whale watching from about June to about September. Take a picnic on the powder-soft sand, taste surf-fresh seafood and plan your future African holidays from the privacy of your own plunge pool. After five days, you are totally relaxed, ready to return home with a renewed appreciation for peace, calm and serenity.
