Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in the Mother City

Your African family holiday begins today as you arrive in beautiful Cape Town and collect your rental car from Cape Town International Airport. From here you'll make your way to the More Quarters Apartments.

This historic buildling is situated in the heart of Cape Town and offers an ideal place from which to explore the city. Unwind with a treatment at the spa, relax in your spacious rooms or set out to discover the Mother City with your family.

Days 2-4

Discover Cape Town

On your arrival at Cape Town International Airport collect your hire-car and drive to More Quarters Apartments, which is situated on trendy Kloof Street in the heart of the Cape Town. Your apartment is located in a historic building that combines bohemian interiors with refined sophistication and modern convenience. Embracing innovation while paying homage to history, your lock-up-and-go single apartment provides the perfect base from which to discover Africa’s favourite city. Live like a local while still enjoying the full service support of a luxury hotel. On your doorstep are world-class restaurants, buzzing sidewalk cafés, boutiques and art galleries while the pristine beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are just a short drive away.

Spend your time in Cape Town wandering the chic streets surrounding your apartment and visiting some of this dynamic city’s major attractions. The V&A Waterfront is a shopping and entertainment hub from where you can also take a ferry to Robben Island for a guided tour of the late Nelson Mandela’s prison cell. Visit a handful of Constantia estates that form part of the Cape Winelands for tastings and finish off the experience with a lavish lunch at a restaurant overlooking the vineyards set against the stunning backdrop of iconic Table Mountain. Hundreds of endangered African penguins can be spotted on Boulders Beach with the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the stunning Cape Peninsula on your way there.

Each evening freshen up before heading out into the city for dinner. Visit swanky tapas bars and cocktail lounges or you might prefer the white linen and silver-service dining on offer at more formal eateries. Perhaps something very relaxed like a South African boerewors roll washed down an ice-cold local craft beer is more your thing!

Day 5

Fly to Timbavati Reserve

After breakfast this morning make your way back to Cape Town International Airport where you board a flight to Johannesburg. On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, take a light airplane to Ngala Tented Camp within Ngala Private Game Reserve. Meaning ‘lion’ in the local Shangaan language, Ngala comprises well-spaced and secluded suites that neatly blend into the lush foliage on the banks of the seasonal Timbavati River. Encounter wildlife – including the Big 5 – on guided 4x4 game drives and walking safaris led by expert ranger-and-tracker teams. Predators such as cheetah and wild dog are also regularly sighted and the reserve supports several large lion prides, while the river is home to sluggish crocodiles and grunting hippos.

Days 6-8

Search for the Big 5 in Sabi Sands

Between thrilling excursions in the untamed wilderness, relax on the viewing deck overlooking the grasslands and Timbavati. The pool offers refreshing afternoon dips as well as daytime relaxation in comfortable loungers around the water. Lavish lunches can be enjoyed in a number of idyllic locations. Let your senses go wild as you bathe under the outside shower on your suite’s private verandah or enjoy an indulgent spa treatment followed by an afternoon siesta on your king-sized bed. The campfire is the place to share stories of the day’s animal sightings, before a romantic lantern-lit dinner accompanied by fine wine and the sounds of nocturnal Africa. Soak in your en suite bathroom’s oversized tub with bubbles to your chin and, before drifting off to sleep, read an ancient African tale left on your pillow…

Day 9

Stay the night in Johannesburg

Enjoy one last game drive on your way out of Sabi Sands and head over to Hoedspruit Airport where you catch a flight back to Johannesburg. On arrival, you are met and transferred to Athol Place, a gracious hotel in upscale Sandton.

Enjoy a relaxed evening at the hotel or head out on the town for a drink and gourmet dinner at one of Johannesburg's top restaurants as you prepare for the next exciting leg of the tour.

Days 10-13

Enjoy island living

This morning you catch a short flight to Vilanculos in Mozambique, whereupon you catch another swift charter flight to Indigo Bay Island Resort & Spa, a luxury beach resort situated on Bazaruto Island, the largest in the Bazaruto Archipelago.

This resort not only boasts elegance and luxury throughout but it also has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere with its thatched chalets dotted through the gardens and along the perfect white beach.

These days are yours to relax on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean or head out on a scuba diving excursion. The more adventurous might enjoy dune boarding, horse riding, water skiing, kayaking and wind surfing.

And while you enjoy a relaxing spa treatment or a quiet walk on the beach, your children will enjoy their own entertainment at the Indi Kidz Club, open from 8am to 5pm daily and offering professional care and tailored entertainment.
