Experience this 8-day road safari through Kenya, exploring the Aberdare and Lake Nakuru national parks, as well as the Samburu and Masai Mara national reserves.

Enjoy this unique safari as you explore the Samburu National Reserve for the rare reticulated giraffe and Beisa oryx, and explore the stunning Aberdare National Park with is large population of elephants.

Continue your safari in the smaller Lake Nakuru National Park with its thousands of pink flamingos on the lake shore, before finishing in the spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Jambo to Nairobi

Arrive today in Nairobi and start your Kenya Wilderness Journey with a transfer to the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel. After checking in, set out to explore this bustling East African city starting with a visit to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, followed by an optional lunch at the famous Carnivore (not included). Returning to the hotel in the late afternoon for some relaxing time at the pool.

Day 2

Travel to Aberdare National Park

This morning, enjoy breakfast before driving to the Aberdare Country Club for a delectable lunch. In the early afternoon transfer into the Aberdare National Park where you’ll spend a night at the Ark Lodge. Relax in one of the observation lounges and watch the wildlife come to drink at the waterhole in front of the lodge.

Days 3-4

Explore the Samburu

Begin today early in the morning as you drive to the Samburu National Reserve arriving at Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through the park, which is home to a number of rare animals, before returning to the Samburu Sopa Lodge for a delicious African-inspired dinner.

Set out early the next morning to explore the Samburu, searching for the Big 5 as well as rarer game species. Enjoy a variety of game-viewing activities in the park, surrounded by the panoramic Samburu Hills and Mount Kenya.  

Day 5

Game drive at Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, drive to the Lake Nakuru National Park which is famous for its black rhino population and vast population of flamingos that feed on the lake's shore.

Arrive at the beautiful Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge in time for lunch. Set out in the afternoon to explore the park on an exciting game drive, looking out for the park's unique tree-climbing lions. Return to camp in the early evening in time for sundowners and dinner.

Day 6

Drive into the Masai Mara

This morning say goodbye to Lake Nakuru and drive to the renowned Masai Mara - one of Africa's greatest wildlife destinations. Arrive at the Keekorok Lodge in time for lunch.

Spend some time relaxing at the lodge taking in the beauty of your surroundings before setting out for a late afternoon game drive into the National Reserve.

Day 7

Discover the magic of the Mara

Head out after breakfast on a full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the majestic scenery of the reserve's rolling hills and vast plains as you search for the famous Big 5 and other wildlife. Return to the lodge in the evening in time for a delicious meal around the fire.

If you are visiting during the migration season, marvel at the remarkable sight of thousands upon thousands of wildebeest dotting the plains.

Day 8

Return to Nairobi

Your final day starts this morning with an early breakfast followed by a transfer back to Nairobi, arriving at around midday.
