Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Journey to the Samburu Nature Reserve

Set out early from Nairobi and travel north through breathtaking scenery of rolling hills and fields of tea and coffee. Continue north after lunch until you reach the Samburu Nature Reserve and the intimate and luxurious Elephant Bedroom Camp - your accommodation for the next two nights. Relax in the afternoon before departing on an afternoon game drive into the reserve.

Day 2

Game viewing in the Samburu

Get ready for some great game viewing as you head out on a morning game drive. The Samburu Nature Reserve has a large variety of animals, including all three big cats - lion, leopard, and cheetah. You’ll have some time to rest and relax beside the Ewaso Ng'iro River or in the lounge area before heading out on another game drive in the late afternoon.

Days 3-4

Count the flamingos in Lake Nakuru

Travel south-west towards the Lake Nakuru National Park and the Mbweha Camp - a small intimate camp on the border of the national park. The afternoon will be yours to spend at leisure. Enjoy any of the optional activities that the camp offers - escorted walks, guided bike rides, or a cultural visit.

The next day, make your way into Lake Nakuru National Park for a full day of game viewing. Though best known for the number of flamingos that line the lake’s shores, the park has several other bird species such as the African Fish Eagle, Goliath Heron, and Pied Kingfisher. Other wildlife includes large concentrations of black and white rhinos, lions, and leopards to name a few.

Days 5-6

Explore the Masai Mara

The morning will be yours to enjoy at leisure before you transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Embark on a short game drive as you head to the tented Tipilikwani Mara Camp. Head out to explore the mighty Masai Mara on an early morning and afternoon game drive.

The Mara is one of Kenya's premier parks and offers exceptional year-round game viewing, as well as sightings of the annual wildebeest migration.
