Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-3

Discover the Cape Winelands

Your journey begins today as you arrive at Cape Town International Airport and pick up your rental car. Set off for the charming Winelands town of Franschhoek and Le Quartier Francais, your elegant hotel for the next three nights.

Your time in the Cape Winelands will be spent doing what you feel like doing and at your pace. The views are fantastic, there are exquisite local wines to taste, and the region is justly famous as South Africa's fine food capital. Championship golf courses lie close by, and Cape Town is only an hour and a half away by car.

Return to your stylish accommodation after a day exploring vineyards and wine cellars to relax and unwind with a refreshing drink or a dip in the pool. In the evenings, take your pick from Franschhoek's superb gourmet restaurants, naturally drinking perfectly paired local wine with every meal.

On your third day, saddle up for a fun-filled, privately guided cycle tour through the Stellenbosch Winelands. The adults enjoy tasting at two superb wineries and an award-winning brandy distillery while the children will be enraptured by a visit to the Birds of Prey Sanctuary before lunch at the Vredenheim Estate, where zebras, gemsbok and ostriches graze peacefully on the lawns.

Days 4-7

Enjoy the sights of the Garden Route

Say goodbye to wine country as you make your way to the Garden Route, a region of beautiful coastal roads and dramatic mountain backdrops.

Arrive at Kurland, a luxurious country-style hotel located in a rural setting just outside the lively coastal town of Plettenberg Bay and at the heart of the Garden Route. Kurland will serve as the ideal base from which to explore the top attractions of the Garden Route.

The area has perfect beaches and warm Indian Ocean water. Spend your time soaking up the sun or take a boat cruise to discover the abundant marine life of the area; you can also keep your feet dry with visits to see the various animals at Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and the Elephant Sanctuary, all situated close by. Golf, hiking, bird watching and kayaking are some of the other activities offered in the area.

Return to Kurland for a relaxing session in the intimate spa - revitalising the mind, body and spirit - before sitting down to a delicious meal.

Days 8-11

Search for the Big Five in Kwandwe

Enjoy one more breakfast at Kurland before heading off to the Eastern Cape and the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, located just outside the coastal town of Port Elizabeth. Settle into Kwandwe Ecca Lodge, a unique and luxurious safari lodge and your home for the last four nights.

This is your opportunity to enjoy a big game safari: explore 22 000 hectares of malaria-free wilderness on game drives and guided nature walks on the lookout for the Big 5 as well as cheetah, a wide range of antelope and local endemic birds such as the Knysna woodpecker.

Return to the lodge for a dip in the infinity pool and admire the breathtaking views over the thickly vegetated valley from your modern and well-appointed suite.
