Botswana & Vic Falls Best River Adventure

After a flight from Johannesburg to Maun, board a charter flight for Tau Pan Camp, a eco-friendly safari camp set in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, one of Africa's biggest conservation areas and home to a diverse range of wildlife that includes lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah and brown hyena.

This solar-powered camp overlooks a permanent waterhole and the rolling grasslands and wooded dunes of the Kalahari desert. Spend time after the drive relaxing by the swimming pool as you watch wildlife come down to the waterhole for a drink.

Head out early this morning in a 4x4 safari vehicle to explore the vast and unspoiled Central Kalahari Game Reserve for an insight into this little-visited region.

After the drive, experience the area around the camp in the afternoon with a San Bushman guide as he takes you on an interactive nature walk before returning to the camp to marvel at the spectacular night sky as you sit out on the deck and drink in the unique Kalahari atmosphere.

Board a chartered flight for the spectacular Moremi Game Reserve and Xakanaxa Camp, located in a particularly good game viewing area of the reserve and on the fringes of the Okavango Delta. You'll be in time to enjoy an afternoon game drive for animals such as elephant, buffalo, lion and leopard.

Continue exploring this stunning ecological wonderland the next day. You could spend the morning exploring the waterways in a mokoro (canoe) or motorboat before going out again in the 4X4 for another game drive.

Spend your evenings relaxing with a delicious cocktail by the campfire, looking up at the starry night sky and swopping game drive stories.

This morning you'll return to the Xakanaxa airstrip for a flight over the Okavango Delta to Lebala Camp, situated in the private Kwando Concession in northern Botswana.

Get settled in and head out on an afternoon/evening game drive into the concession searching for its famously abundant predators and large numbers of elephants.

Continue your exploration of the area the next day on another set of game drives, or head out with your ranger on a bush walk. The bird watching is excellent and it's one of Botswana's best destinations to see African wild dog.

After a final game activity say goodbye to the Kwando concession as you make your way to Livingstone in Zambia and the Stanley Safari Lodge.

This exclusive, colonial-style lodge will take you back to the 1920s as you look out over the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and the drifting spray of nearby Victoria Falls.

For the next couple of days you can take things at your own pace: relax and unwind or partake in some of the adrenalin-filled activities that the region is so famous for. To name but three, you could go white-water rafting on the Zambezi River, take a scenic flight over the Falls, or enjoy a bit of game watching from the back of an elephant.

Transfer after breakfast to the Livingstone Airport for your scheduled flight back to Johannesburg and the end of your adventure.
