Start your amazing adventure in the Makgadikgadi Pans - enormous, pancake-flat salt pans surrounded by the rolling golden grasslands of the Kalahari. Explore the area on guided walks or on thrilling game drives.

Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-2

Arrive in Botswana

Arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and board a flight to Botswana. Upon arrival at Maun Airport, you will be met and transferred to Leroo Lau Tau, a safari lodge on the boundary of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Spend your time at Leoo La Tau on game drives, guided walks or thrilling night drives in search of the famous Kalahari wildlife.

There're plenty of familiar species such as lion, cheetah, giraffe and zebra but it's a great chance to see Kalahari specialists as well - keep a lookout for gemsbok, springbok and brown hyena, and keep an even sharper eye out for smaller and more elusive creatures such as wild cat, honey badger and porcupine. Unwind back at the lodge in the plunge pool or in the library.

Days 3-4

Head into the Moremi Game Reserve

Today you'll check out of Leroo La Tau and head to Camp Moremi in the Xakanaxa region of the Moremi Game Reserve. It's one of the best game viewing areas of the Okavango Delta.

Spend the next two days with trained naturalist guides who will teach you about this amazing ecosystem on morning and afternoon game drives. Look out for wild dog, cheetah, leopard, lion, giraffe, elephant and buffalo - all of which are regularly seen in the area. Other activities include amazing bird watching and motorboat excursions to beautiful Gadikwe lagoon, home to a huge heronry and snorting hippos.

Days 5-6

Explore the Chobe National Park

Today you'll leave the Okavango Delta behind and head for your last accommodation: the world-famous Chobe Game Lodge, overlooking the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplains. The only riverfront lodge located in the Chobe National Park itself, Chobe Game Lodge offers thrilling game drives in open-sided 4x4 vehicles - a great way to spot the river's wildlife.

Besides the famously huge elephant herds that crowd the riverbanks during the June - October dry season, the area is home to buffalo, lion, leopard and wild dog as well as many interesting antelope species such as puku, red lechwe, sable and roan. Go on a beautiful sunset cruise down the Chobe River for excellent bird watching and close-up sightings of elephant, crocodile and hippo.
