Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Livingstone in Zambia

Today you will arrive at Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport to catch your flight to Livingstone in Zambia. From there, transfer to Toka Leya Camp where you will spend the next two days.

Day 2

Discover the Victoria Falls

Toka Leya lodge is situated on the forested banks of the Zambezi River, just 20 minutes away from the legendary Victoria Falls. Enjoy a guided tour of this natural wonder before packing in whatever activities you have planned. Besides all the famous adrenalin activities in the area such as white-water rafting and bungee jumping.

Enjoy a sunset river cruise, saddle up for an elephant-back safari or even go on a guided walk or game drive in nearby Mosi-oa-Tunya Park for your first taste of the big game action soon to come.

Days 3-4

Cross the border to Zimbabwe

Today you will check out of Toka Leya, transfer across the border into Zimbabwe, and head to your next accommodation, Little Makalolo, a classic safari camp set in a private concession of Hwange National Park. Hwange has long been Zimbabwe's flagship national park and you'll be heading out on expertly-led game drives and walking safaris in search of big game.

Elephant, lion and buffalo are frequently seen and the general game viewing is excellent. The park is also home to Africa's top predators and you'll be keeping an eye out for leopard, hyena, wild dog and cheetah. If you are an avid bird watcher, there are perfect opportunities to tick off dozens of birds everytime you go out - Hwange has an enviable bird count of well over 400 species.

Days 5-6

Enjoy more thrilling game-driving

After breakfast at Little Makalolo, head to Mana Pools National Park where you will be staying at Ruckomechi Camp. Ruckomechi Camp offers beautiful views over the Zambezi River as well as a wide range of safari activities - plan your game viewing experience with the staff at the lodge and enjoy open-vehicle 4x4 game drives and guided walking safaris as well as boating, canoeing and fishing.

Mana Pools is one of the region's wildest and least visited parks and is home to a wide range of habitats and phenomenal bird watching.
