Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-3

Welcome to Chinzombo

Arrive in Lusaka today and transfer to Chinzombo, which consists of only six private and sumptuous villas on the banks of the Luangwa River in a prime game-viewing area. After settling in, you spend the next few days discovering just why Zambia's South Luangwa National Park is one of the country's flagship reserves.

You will head out on expertly guided game drives, returning to relax on your expansive viewing deck or beside your private splash pool. And take advantage of the lodge's wide and varied range of amenities that include Wi-Fi access, yoga lessons and spa facilities. To completely immerse yourself in the Luangwa experience, join guided nature walks and visit the nearby local villages to learn more about the Zambian way of life.

Days 4-5

Off to Kakuli

Bid Chinzombo farewell as you venture further up the Luangwa River where it meets the Luwi River to Kakuli Bush Camp, which has only four tents, ensuring privacy and exclusivity. Here you will find some of Africa's densest game viewing, with over 60 mammal species and more than 400 birds to spot on guided nature walks.

The rivers are at their highest in February and March when, in addition to traditional game drives, you can also enjoy boating safaris - seeing elephants, hippos and crocodiles from the water is hugely exciting! Kakuli also arranges inspiring visits to the nearby school as part of their community engagement project.

Days 6-7

Back to Chinzombo

It is back to Chinzombo for your last two days in Zambia. Having already established 'the lay of the land', you can now throw yourself into more off-beat experiences like night drives to spot nocturnal species such as bushbabies, porcupines or owls, or learn how to track animals in the wilderness. Soak up the sun from your deck and indulge in your last few high teas and star-lit dinners as your time in African draws slowly to a close.
