Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Enjoy a taste of tradition in Botswana

Meet your guides in Namibia's capital of Windhoek before beginning your journey with a scenic drive to the Buitepos border, where you cross into Botswana. Once at your lodge in Ghanzi, you can meet with a local Bushman community who will treat you to some traditional tribal dancing.

Days 2-4

Discover the Okavango Delta

Start your day early as you head to Maun - the gateway to the magnificent Okavango Delta - where you will spend the night. In the morning, you’ll have a short briefing from you guides before you prepare to enter the Delta's incredible network of snaking waterways and scattered islands. Board a small plane that will take you to Moremi Crossing, your tented camp for the following two nights. The Delta is the largest freshwater wetland in Africa and a remarkable oasis set amidst Botswana's arid and unforgiving wilderness.

Spend the following days exploring this magnificent landscape. If the water levels allow, you can look forward to exploring the waterways by mokoro canoe and you can go on fascinating nature walks with the local people. Here you will find one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife on the continent, with inhabitants ranging from hippos, elephant and buffalo to various species of antelope and a prolific birdlife.

Day 5

Sleep beneath a canopy of leaves

Leave the Delta and travel east to Gweta - halfway between Maun and Nata, near the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Spend the night at Planet Baobab where the accommodation is set amongst these majestic trees. An optional bush walk will teach you all you need to know about these ancient trees.

Day 6

Enter the Chobe National Park

Today you will continue your travels north to Kasane where you will stay on the banks of the Chobe River. The Chobe National Park is known around the world for its predators, but the park's elephant population is even more remarkable. Huge herds of these noble beasts roam its floodplains, woodlands and grasslands.

An afternoon river cruise presents the perfect opportunity to get up close to these gentle giants as they make their way down to the banks of the Chobe River to quench their thirst.

Days 7-8

Get your adrenalin pumping at Victoria Falls

An early game drive offers an excellent chance to catch sight of lion and spotted hyena, among other predators, as they return from a night's hunting. Depart the Chobe National Park and head to Zimbabwe and the Victoria Falls National Park. At 1.7 kilometres wide and 100 metres high, the Victoria Falls are one of Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a truly breathtaking sight.

Known as the adrenaline capital of Africa, a visit to the Falls offers world-class bungee jumping and white-water rafting, pulse-racing canoe trips, and unforgettable gorge-swinging. There are also plenty of activities to keep the more cautious enthralled, with a microlight, helicopter or light aircraft flight over the Falls and a relaxing cruise down the Zambezi River to fully take in these majestic surrounds.

Your tour officially comes to an end after breakfast the next morning.
