Kenya Intrepid Family Sojourn

Upon arrival in Nairobi, your family will transfer to the luxurious Crown Plaza Hotel. Located in Nairobi's Upper Hill financial district, the hotel is ideally situated for sightseeing.

In the afternoon, embark on an 'Out of Africa' experience as you follow in the footsteps of Karen Blixen and travel towards the Ngong Hills. Visit the Giraffe Centre - a sanctuary for the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe. With an elevated viewing and feeding platform, this is a wonderful experience for children.

After breakfast, make your way to the nearby Wilson Airport for a flight to the stunning Samburu Game Reserve. Here, you’ll be met and transferred to the Samburu Intrepids Safari Game Lodge.

Enjoy a delicious lunch and some time by the pool before starting your safari adventure with a late afternoon game drive into the reserve. The Samburu is home to large herds of elephants, a wide variety of plains game, and the predators that follow closely behind, including lion and leopard.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing as you search the plains for wildlife. Children are most welcome on the game drives, although there is also an Adventurer’s Club which offers many exciting activities.

You’ll get to see the local Samburu people, in their traditional red robes, as they bring their goats to the waterholes to drink.

Enjoy a final morning game viewing activity before transferring to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi. After a picnic lunch, connect with your flight to Naivasha, where you'll be met and transferred to the Great Rift Valley Lodge. Get acquainted with your surroundings with a cycle around the lodge in the afternoon. There is a host of activities to keep you busy, including exciting walking and horse-riding safaris in the Eburru forests or trips along a string of volcanic lakes which are home to diverse and prolific birdlife.

The following morning, you’ll head to the Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive in this fascinating game park, famous for its vast number of pink flamingos. Return to the lodge in time for lunch, and spend the rest of the day relaxing in this beautiful area. Take an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Naivasha.

After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the Naivasha Ebony Curio Emporium. It's a fascinating experience to watch the craftsmen at work, and you can buy some of their best work at factory prices. Return to the lodge for lunch before transferring to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Embark on a short game drive as you drive from the airstrip to the Mara Intrepids Camp. Later in the afternoon, you can head out on a game drive in the reserve returning to the camp at sunset.

On the following day, you’ll set out on three scheduled game drives to explore the vast plains and rolling hills of this world-famous reserve searching for the Big 5 and other wildlife. Between game drives, relax beside the pool, sit on the deck overlooking the Talek River, or take a cultural trip to a neighbouring Maasai village.

After an early morning activity and lunch at Mara Intrepids, transfer to the Mara Airstrip for a return scheduled flight to Nairobi for your onward arrangements.
