Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-2

Visit the Hlane Royal National Park

Depart Johannesburg and travel through the scenic province of Mpumalanga until you reach the border to the Kingdom of Swaziland. Crossing the border, you’ll arrive at Hlane Royal National Park, home to lion, elephant, white rhino and exceptional birdlife.

This 30 000ha nature reserve offers a wide variety of optional activities and excursions and you can spend the next day enjoying game drives, hikes and a rhino walk. Sit back and watch traditional Swazi dancing before you enjoy dinner.

Days 3-4

Explore the waters of Praia do Tofo

Leave Swaziland behind as you cross into exotic Mozambique. Travel north along the ocean and admire the beautiful vistas of the Mozambique coast. Arrive at your camp in Praia do Tofo in the late afternoon and spend the next two days taking in and experiencing these idyllic surrounds.

If you're not swimming in the clear blue Indian Ocean or relaxing on the pristine beaches, you can spend your time taking a closer look at the reefs as you go snorkelling and diving in these magnificent waters. Tofo is the ideal place from which to view the whale shark (seasonal) - the world's largest fish.

Days 5

Snorkel at Vilanculos

Head to Vilanculos, and the Bazaruto Archipelago – arguably the country's premier destination. The abundant tropical sea life in this protected area makes for spectacular snorkelling at one of the reefs. An optional horse-back ride provides a unique experience of this beautiful region.

Days 6-7

Explore the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park

Sail out to the beautiful islands in this magnificent area on a traditional dhow and keep your eyes peeled as you may spot dolphins on the way. Spend the next two nights on Benguerra Island where you'll have many more opportunities to snorkel, swim and relax in these idyllic surroundings.

Days 8-9

Laze in the sun at Inhambane

Continue your journey as you head through the spectacular coconut plantations to the old Portuguese settlement of Inhambane. With a rich history of slave trade, this coastal town offers a much quieter holiday experience, giving you the next two days to lounge on these tranquil, white beaches. Your suite opens directly onto the sand, making it the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate.

Day 10

Head to the capital of Maputo

Today you will travel south to the capital of Maputo. Sights worth visiting here include the Fort of Nossa Senhora da Conceicao and the Central Railway Station. You can spend the rest of the day exploring and experiencing this vibrant African city.

Days 11-12

Spot the Big 5 in Kruger

Return to South Africa today as you cross the border and make your way to the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Spend the next two nights in this premier conservation area and go in search of Africa's Big 5.

Early morning and afternoon game drives will bring you to the animals when they are at their most active, while optional night drives will give you the opportunity to see some of the nocturnal animals.

Day 13

See wildlife rehabilitation in action

Explore the greater Kruger area today and pay a visit to the Mohololo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where orphaned and injured animals are nurtured back to health and strengthened before they are released back into the wild.
