Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

From Nairobi to Mount Kenya

Leaving Nairobi you journey north passing through Thika, which has the world's third largest pineapple plantation, and Karatina, with its colourful market. Turn off the main road and head for the Ark, arriving in time for lunch. Set in the heart of the Aberdares, this stunning tree lodge overlooks a waterhole that attracts all sorts of wildlife during the day and night.
Day 2

Explore Lake Nakuru National Park

A morning drive takes you via Nyahururu Falls (still known to many as Thomson's Falls) to the excellent game-viewing destination of Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive illustrates the beautiful and unusual contrast between the Rift Valley's shallow soda lakes - populated by white pelicans, pink flamingos and other water birds - and the verdant woodlands.

Once in the park, embark on a short game drive en route to the Lake Nakuru Lodge, arriving in time for a delicious lunch. Enjoy a longer afternoon game drive to search the park for hippo, rhino, and the large flamingo population.

Day 3

Cross the Rift Valley to Masai Mara

After an early morning breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru and head for Njoro town where you begin your ascent to the Mau Escarpment. Travel south towards Narok, the gateway to the Masai Mara National Reserve.

Following lunch at the Mara Simba Lodge, embark on an afternoon game drive and explore the rolling hills and vast plains of this scenic game park. Relax in the evening in the floodlit area on the river, or alongside the swimming pool.

Day 4

Game drives in the Masai Mara

Today you'll be treated to an early morning and late afternoon game drive through the Masai Mara National Reserve, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including Africa's Big 5. The Mara-Serengeti ecosystem is most famous for the annual migration of over a million wildebeest and thousands of zebra.

Day 5

End your journey in Nairobi

After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok. From here, cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle, before heading up the rift escarpment. Arrive in Kenya's bustling capital in the early afternoon where you're dropped off at a city centre hotel or the airport.
