Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Set off for the Central Drakensberg

On arrival at Durban Airport, pick up your rental car and make your way to Hartford House, a beautiful old-world manor house renowned for its excellent cuisine. Accommodation is in cottage-style rooms and includes a five-course dinner and nothing less than a three-course breakfast. Exciting activities offered at the lodge include horse riding, nature walks, tennis, spa treatments and trout or bass fishing.
Days 2-3

Enjoy gourmet food at Cleopatra

Take an easy one-hour drive to Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse, situated in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains and adjoining Giants Castle Nature Reserve.

Here trout fishing, horse riding, hiking, bird watching and swimming in clear mountain streams are part all of the charm but what Cleopatra is most famous for is its cuisine. Prepare to indulge in sensational locally-inspired dishes created by award-winning chefs who will share some of their secrets with you during the lodge's cookery classes.

Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse has a charming and cosy atmosphere, and is the ideal base from which to explore Highmoor Dam, the Kamberg Nature Reserve, and the endless scenic trails of the dramatic, looming Drakensberg Mountains.

Day 4

Return to Durban

After breakfast you'll leave the Drakensberg and drive back to Durban Airport where you drop off your hire car and continue your travels.
