Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Explore Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you'll be transferred to the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi where you’ll spend the night (on a bed & breakfast basis). Depending on your flight arrival time, the remainder of the day can be spent relaxing or exploring the bustling city of Nairobi.

Day 2

Game driving in the Masai Mara

Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you'll travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment, keeping a lookout for the charming chapel built at the foot of the escarpment. Pass the impressive Longonot Earth Satellite Station as you head across the Valley to Narok, before travelling across acres of wheat and barley plantations.

You’ll reach the picturesque Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, set off on an exciting afternoon game drive, returning to the Mara Sopa Lodge as the sun sets.

Day 3

Spot Big Game in the Masai Mara

Head off on an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara. Depending on the time of year you choose to visit, you may experience the thrill of seeing thousands upon thousands of wildebeest migrating across these plains. Spend the rest of the day at leisure before setting out on an afternoon game drive. Experience a guided walking safari or simply relax beside the pool.

A highly recommended way to experience the Masai Mara is on a hot-air balloon safari which culminates with a champagne breakfast in the bush after landing. In the evening, enjoy a delicious barbecue while enjoying an African themed night.

Day 4

See flamingos at Lake Nakuru

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you'll travel across the 'breadbasket' of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley cover the landscape. Continue north as you make your way to Narok.

Travel across the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle, as you head up the Mau Escarpment to Lake Nakuru – made famous by the masses of flamingo that congregate on the shore to feed, fringing the lake in a blur of pink. Once in the park, you’ll enjoy an exciting game drive en route to Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 5

Game-spotting in Amboseli

Leave Lake Nakuru behind and continue your journey to Amboseli. Pass through Nairobi and the town of Emali before arriving at Amboseli Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive in Amboseli National Park, returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

Day 6

Explore the Amboseli National Park

Explore Amboseli on morning and afternoon game drives, and guided walking safaris. Learn more about the Maasai culture and traditions at the in-house culture centre or head out on a memorable visit to a nearby Maasai village.

Day 7

Day of departure

Following an early morning game drive and delicious breakfast, catch your last clear early morning view of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as you leave Amboseli behind. Stop at the town of Namanga where you can browse the colourful markets for souvenirs. Travel across the beautiful Athi Plains before arriving in Kenya's bustling capital city of Nairobi.
