Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Head to the Cederberg region

After a short stop with a beautiful panoramic view of Table Mountain, you depart Cape Town and head north to the Cederberg mountain region. Stop at !Kwat tu where you can join a San guided tour and visit the museum to learn more about the Bushman culture. Continue on to Piketberg in the afternoon where you’ll enjoy wine tasting at a local wine farm just outside this beautiful town.

Day 2

Smell the daisies in Namaqualand

Today you will travel north through the picturesque Namaqualand in South Africa's Northern Cape. The vast, semi-arid Namaqualand region comes alive in spring when millions of colourful wild flowers cover the countryside. Cross the Orange River and spend the night in chalets that overlook this natural border between South Africa and Namibia. Relax by the campfire and get to know your fellow travellers.

Day 3

Go canoeing down the Orange River

Choose between a relaxing morning on the riverbank or a half-day canoe adventure down the Orange River. After lunch you travel north to the world-renowned Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon in the world.

Enjoy a hike along the canyon's rim to appreciate just how magnificent it truly is, before you continue on to Ai-Ais, the nearby hot water springs where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing in the pools.

Days 4-5

Enter the Namib Desert

This morning travel on into one of Namibia's gems - the Namib Naukluft National Park.

The Namib Desert is one of the oldest and largest deserts in the world, stretching 1000km along the Atlantic Coast of Namibia. This landscape is characterised by some of the highest sand dunes in the world.

Begin your day early to catch the sunrise over this dramatic landscape. The rest of the day will be spent in the Namib Naukluft National Park. Begin by entering the Sossusvlei region where you’ll get the chance to hike up the famous Dune 45 for an amazing view from the top - and a great photo opportunity.

Days 6-7

Enjoy adventure in Swakopmund

This morning a local expert and guide will join you for a nature walk and share with you fascinating insights into the ecosystem of the area. After this you will cross the Tropic of Capricorn on your way to the Atlantic Coast. Reach Walvis Bay first, a sleepy holiday town that hosts an amazing flamingo population on its lake.

Continue your travels to Swakopmund, otherwise known as the adventure capital of Namibia, where you'll spend the following two nights.

Your time will easily be spent enjoying a range of exciting adventure sports like quad biking, sand boarding and sky diving. Admire the beautiful, sandy coastline from the sea on a dolphin cruise or gaze over the desert from the sky on a scenic flight.

Day 8

Visit the Brandberg Mountain

Travel inland, today, towards the Brandberg Mountain, a sacred site to the San people. After a short tour of the area, continue on to Khorixas, via the Petrified Forest.

Day 9

Meet the traditional Himba people

Today you will travel north-west to Kamanjab where you will get the chance to meet the semi-nomadic Himba people. The Himba are easily recognisable by their unique style of hair and dress. Their hair, clothes and jewellery all form an important part of their tradition and culture.

Days 10-11

Discover the Etosha National Park

This morning you will continue your journey to the south-east until you reach the Etosha National Park. The open plains allow for spectacular game viewing from the truck and you can be on the lookout for four of Africa's Big 5.

Spend two nights in the park's rest camps where you can sit next to the floodlit waterholes after you've returned from your game drives, and watch as the animals come to drink. An optional night game drive will bring you to see some of the nocturnal animals that roam these lands.

Day 12

Take a tour of Windhoek

Following one last early morning game drive, you set off towards the capital of Windhoek, situated in the centre of Namibia. Make a stop at a craft market on the way where you can buy authentic African paintings and engravings.

In the afternoon you can go on a short city tour to see how this African city still retains its German flair. You can spend the evening as you see fit, eating at one of the many local restaurants. Joe's Beer House, with its unique decor of Namibian memorabilia, comes highly recommended.

Day 13

See tribal dances in Botswana

A scenic drive takes you to the Buitepos border where you cross into Botswana. Once at camp you meet with a local Bushman community and experience some traditional tribal dancing.

Days 14-16

Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta

An early start takes you from Ghanzi towards Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, where you will spend the night and prepare for your two-day bush camping experience.

The next morning your guides will brief you on activities and the community run tourism operation. Then you will enter the Okavango Delta - the world's largest inland delta - via small planes to reach the tented camp and your home for the next two nights.

The crystal clear waters and countless islands of the Delta are home to an amazing variety of animals and prolific birdlife. Enjoy guided walks and game drives to explore the exotic islands and, if the water levels allow, explore the waterways by traditional mokoro canoe.

Day 17

Sleep under a Baobab canopy

Admire the Delta once more from the air as you exit this magnificent region via plane and return to your truck in Maun. Travel east to Gweta, situated close to the dry Makgadikgadi saltpans and spend the night at Planet Baobab, an oasis in this much dryer area of the country.

Day 18

Relax on the banks of the Chobe River

Journey further north to Kasane and settle in at your camp on the banks of the Chobe River. The afternoon offers a cruise down the river and an excellent opportunity to sit back, and relax at the camp, watching the wildlife that come to the river to drink.

Day 19

Arrive at the Victoria Falls

This morning you have the option of a game drive to further explore this iconic park with its impressive elephant population of about 120 000. Cross the border into Zimbabwe to arrive at your final destination - Victoria Falls.

Known as the adrenalin capital of Africa, you’ll have a wide variety of thrilling activities to choose from as well as plenty of more sedate, yet no less memorable, options. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon cruise down the mighty Zambezi River to get acquainted with these majestic surroundings.

Day 20

Go white river rafting down the Zambezi

Although your tour officially comes to an end after breakfast, the day is yours to spend fully experiencing this incredible sheet of falling water.

Other than some of the best white-water rafting in the world, the list of activities on offer at the Falls includes elephant excursions, bungee jumping, abseiling and helicopter flights that offer spectacular panoramic views.
