Day 1

Depart Cape Town and the magnificent Table Mountain and head north towards the Cederberg Mountain region. The Cederberg is well-known as one of the main Rooibos tea-growing areas in South Africa and is spectacularly decorated by the beautiful wildflowers in October.

On this first afternoon take a guided walk to see some local Bushman rock paintings and learn about the surrounding environment.

Day 2

Experience the Orange River

The Western Cape is soon left behind as you continue travelling north for the Orange/Gariep River. Passing through the vast Namaqualand you spend most of the afternoon travelling through the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.

Enjoy a night spent on the banks of the Orange/Gariep River around the campfire, getting to know one another. The river forms the border of South Africa and Namibia.

Day 3

See the Fish River Canyon

Choose between a relaxing morning on the riverbank or a half day canoe adventure on the river. After lunch you travel north to the Fish River Canyon, the second largest in the world. The Fish River is the longest river in Namibia at 650km in length, and the canyon is situated along the lower reaches of this seasonal river.

Days 4-5

Explore the Namib-Naukluft National Park

From the canyon continue on into the remote Namibian hinterland arriving at your camp in the afternoon. Set off after making camp on a walk to the smaller Sesriem Canyon before returning to camp for a stunning African sunset.

Taking advantage the next morning of the cooler temperatures and depart at dawn for the amazing dunes of the Sossusvlei in the Namib-Naukluft Park. Hike up Dune 45 to gain a different perspective of the desert before joining up with a local expert on a guided hike into the desert.

Days 6-7

Make your way to Swakopmund

A dramatic drive takes you north through the arid Namib-Naukluft and across the Tropic of Capricorn, as you head towards the seaside resort town of Swakopmund on Namibia's Atlantic Coast. You will then be briefed on the many optional activities available in the area, which include sandboarding, sky diving, scenic flights and fishing.

The next day is yours to spend at leisure, explore the town or enjoy one of the many adventure activities on offer.

Day 8

Journey to Spitzkoppe

Leave all the trappings of modern life behind you and drive inland to the mysterious Spitzkoppe, a sacred site of the San people. Once at the camp, you have the chance to climb the boulders and rock formations of this stunning landscape. Spend tonight camping in the wild, under a star-filled sky.

Day 9

Get to know the Himba People

After an early morning exploration, you keep heading inland and drive north towards Kamanjab. Here you will meet the Himba tribe and have the opportunity to learn more about their traditions and culture.
