This exciting 8-day overland tour takes you to some of the top destinations in Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Start from Johannesburg and journey up into Botswana where you will head into the renowned Okavango Delta on a mokoro excursion. Enjoy a scenic flight out to Maun, before spending a night in a Baobab oasis.

Head north to Kasane and the Chobe National Park before you cross into Zimbabwe and arrive at the mighty Victoria Falls where a host of thrilling adventure activities awaits.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Travel from Johannesburg to Palapye

Your journey starts as you depart from Johannesburg and head for Botswana. After crossing the border, you will continue on to Palapye, a stopover town situated on the banks of the Lotsane River. Spend the night at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, a community-based wildlife project that protects the highly vulnerable rhino population.

Day 2

See the rhinos of Khama Sanctuary

After breakfast you'll go on a guided game drive through the Khama Rhino Sanctuary and learn more about what they do and how they involve the community. Continue your journey on to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, where you’ll spend the night and prepare for your exciting excursion the next day. If time allows, you can also visit the nearby crocodile sanctuary.

Days 3-4

Discover the Okavango Delta

This morning you will take a scenic flight into the world-renowned Okavango Delta region where you'll spend the next two days exploring these intricate waterways. As the biggest inland delta in the world, the Okavango offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy game viewing by traditional mokoro canoe.

The locals will guide you through the watery channels and tell you about their home and the animals that they share it with. Guided nature walks will have you exploring the exotic islands and promises excellent sightings of the Delta’s prolific birdlife.

Day 5

Sleep under a canopy of leaves

Bid farewell to the Delta as you fly back to Maun. From here you'll continue your adventure and travel east to Gweta where you'll spend the night at Planet Baobab, an oasis of these enormous trees close to the Makgadikgadi Saltpans. Take a stroll around the area in the afternoon to see some of the oldest Baobab trees in the area.

Day 6

Venture into the Chobe National Park

After breakfast, you will travel north to Kasane, situated on the banks of the beautiful Chobe River. Travel into the Chobe National Park by boat, keeping your eyes on the banks to see the giant herds of elephant and hippo. You can also see the elephants on an optional elephant excursion in the afternoon. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy beside the river.

Day 7

Arrive at the Victoria Falls

Enjoy an optional early morning game drive to further explore the Chobe National Park before you cross over into Zimbabwe. On arrival in Victoria Falls, you’ll have some time to settle in before you receive a quick briefing on the wide variety activities available to you on the last day of your itinerary. Go on an optional afternoon cruise on the Zambezi River to get acquainted with these amazing surrounds.

Day 8

Enjoy the thrills of the Victoria Falls

Your tour officially ends after breakfast however you can spend the day taking part in the many activities on offer.

Go white-water rafting down the Zambezi or bungee jump from the Victoria Falls Bridge. Stroll around the Victoria Falls National Park enjoying the incredible views and taking advantage of the photo opportunities. You could also take a trip in a small plane to explore the Falls from above.

Booking an extra day at Victoria Falls is highly recommended to allow you time to take full advantage of the range of things to see and do.
