Cape Country Romance

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport where you will pick up your rental car and drive to 2Inn1 Kensington, a guesthouse situated in the leafy Cape Town suburb of Oranjezicht and close to Table Mountain. This guesthouse is conveniently located close to many of Cape Town's top attractions so you can spend the next few days fully indulging in all that this city has to offer.

Hike or take a trip up Table Mountain in the cable car, spend the day shopping at the V&A Waterfront or the many local shops in Long Street, or head for the city museums. As you have a car, be sure to take a slow drive down the Cape Peninsula to dramatic Cape Point via the Boulders Beach penguin colony. Visit one of the city's many top-class restaurants in the evening and afterwards perhaps experience its vibrant nightlife.

Leave the bustling city behind and drive to the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, situated at the heart of the Cape Winelands. Your next two nights will be spent at the charming River Manor Boutique Hotel and Spa, close to the centre of this historic town.

Explore the area on wine tours to the many surrounding estates, enjoy a relaxing game of golf on championship courses, or go on a history tour of the town. At the end of the day, relax after a dip in the hotel's pool, enjoy a pampering spa session and settle in for a night in your comfortable, Victorian-styled room.

Today you will drive to Schulphoek Seafront Guest House, a charming guesthouse located in the whale-watching town of Hermanus. The house is situated in the protected sanctuary of Schulphoek Bay and located close to the town's beaches. Its elegantly appointed rooms boast spectacular views over the ocean, and during the July - November whale season, you may even see one of these ocean giants from your window. Peak whale watching is in September.

Explore this area with local day trips and outings: there are easy cliff-top and beach walks, wine estate tours, boat-based fishing and a choice of three golf courses.

Today you will lazily wind your way along the Garden Route to Knysna, a vibrant seaside town set next to a beautiful lagoon, and then on to Lairds Lodge Country Estate where you'll spend the following two nights. The lodge is conveniently situated between Knysna and the ever-fashionable and popular coastal town of Plettenberg Bay, making it the perfect location from which to explore both these towns and their many local attractions.

Spend your days here on white sandy beaches and in the warm Indian Ocean, go on scenic walks or challenging hikes and enjoy the lively holiday atmosphere of the Garden Route. Dolphin and whale watching cruises and a visit to Monkeyland and Birds of Eden, the nearby primate sanctuary and aviary, are definite higlights, especially if you are travelling with children.

You'll be crossing into the Eastern Cape today, a malaria-free area that boasts excellent game viewing in a number of private reserves. Head for Kwandwe Ecca Game Reserve where you'll be staying in a deluxe safari game lodge with beautiful views of the Great Fish River.

Enjoy fantastic game viewing and guided nature walks as you search for the Big 5 as well as other classic African animals like cheetah, giraffe and many antelope species. Experienced, informative and passionate rangers and trackers will make the most of your morning, afternoon and early evening game drives.

Return to camp for communal dinner around the boma fire, or get romantic with a candlelit dinner for two on your suite's private deck.
