Enjoy seven blissful days on everyone's favourite Indian Ocean island - beautiful, spicy Zanzibar Island, lying just off the coast of Tanzania. Zanzibar was simply made for romance and relaxation and you'll soon be unwinding on white sandy beaches and spending sleepy afternoons in beachfront hammocks.

You'll also get two different accommodations on the island to ensure a well-rounded Zanzibar experience. Spend six nights at the luxurious and very private Matemwe Lodge, set on the island's best beach, before heading for a night in historic Stone Town to experience the urban side of Zanzibar and an authentic Spice Tour.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Zanzibar - The Spice Island

Arrive at Zanzibar Airport, where a transfer will take you to Matemwe Lodge, positioned between two idyllic beaches on Zanzibar's north-east coast. Settle in, order a cold drink and start planning the days ahead.

Days 2-6

Explore the exotic Zanzibar

There's a wealth of things to see and do at Matemwe Lodge - be sure to take a diving or snorkelling excursion as the area is famous for its dazzling marine life and coral reefs, and you can toast the sunset while on a sailing trip on a traditional dhow.

You could also visit the nearby village of Kigomani for an insight into Zanzibari life, while if you don't fancy doing much at all, then unwind on the marvellous beaches or make use of the lodge's lounge, restaurant (freshly caught seafood is the chef's speciality) and two swimming pools to relax in and absorb the lazy Indian Ocean atmosphere.

Day 7

Wander around Stone Town

A transfer will pick you up from Matemwe Lodge and take you to the island's capital - Stone Town - where you'll stay at The Zanzibar Palace Hotel, a regal boutique hotel with strong Arabian and Indian influences, and offering great views of the city.

Spend some time exploring historic Stone Town and its many bustling and colourful markets and restaurants - perfect for some last minute shopping! You can also embark on a Spice Tour to see just how Zanzibar got its name 'The Spice Island.'

Day 8

Say goodbye to the island

A transfer will pick you up and take you back to the airport where you'll bid farewell to the island and continue with your onward travel arrangements.
