The Great Cape Whale Watching Experience

Arrive in Cape Town and collect your rental car before making your way to the Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel. Alternatively, Go2Africa can arrange to transfer you to the hotel and deliver your vehicle there. Located just off trendy Kloof Street, the Cape Cadogan is close to many of South Africa's best tourist locations, shops and restaurants.

Head to the top of Table Mountain in the cable car, take a short scenic drive to one of the many sandy beaches, or go shopping at the V&A Waterfront. Take a boat to Robben Island and learn about its history and Nelson Mandela's imprisonment, or take a beautiful Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point, visiting the many quaint seaside towns along the way.

Today you will take a beautiful drive to the Whale Coast, crossing the scenic Sir Lowry's pass on the way. Arrive at the Ocean’s Eleven Guest House in Hermanus and settle in to your home for the following three nights. The guest house is set overlooking the rocky seaside of this beautiful town and offers fantastic views of Walker Bay from your bedroom.

Hermanus is known for its excellent land-based whale watching, and it is even possible to see whales frolicking from the comfort of the guest house. Alternatively, whale watching cruises will bring you closer to these creatures.

Leave Hermanus behind as you wind you way along the Garden Route to Southern Cross Beach House in Plettenberg Bay, a vibrant seaside town, and your home for the last three nights. Take a stroll down to Robberg Beach and walk along the soft white sand, often glimpsing whales in the distance. In the winter months, you can hear the whales sing all the way from the beach house.

Today you will embark on an included two-hour Marine Encounters Tour boat trip out into the bay to experience the Plettenberg Bay marine life up close. Leaving from Central Beach, you will have the opportunity to see bottlenose dolphins, as well as the rare, Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins. Don't forget to keep your eyes open for the variety of pelagic seabirds, as well as the Cape fur seal colony.

Today is yours to discover the many natural attractions in this area. Visit Monkeyland, a forested primate sanctuary, and the delightful Birds of Eden, or venture to the Elephant Sanctuary and walk hand-in-trunk with elephants. If you are especially brave, why not go bungee jumping from the highest jump in the world. There is also a selection of golf courses, for those who prefer a more relaxing afternoon.

Today you will take another scenic drive to Port Elizabeth where you will drop your car and continue with your own arrangements.
