Day to Day Itinerary

Days 1-2

Kick back in the Winelands

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport and collect your rental vehicle. Drive to River Manor Boutique Hotel and Spa in the historic town of Stellenbosch, situated in the picturesque Cape Winelands. Here you can relax and enjoy the peaceful, intimate atmosphere. Go for a leisurely stroll in the gardens or relax in the conservatory and enjoy a glass of local wine. Treat yourself to health and beauty therapies at the spa or set off on an exploration of this historic town and the many surrounding wine farms.
Days 3-4

Experience the Whale Coast

Today you will make your way to the beautiful Whale Coast, in the sleepy holiday town of De kelders. Situated in the ideal location for whale watching, Cliff Lodge boasts an all-weather, sea-front deck where you can watch the whales as they breach, spy hop, and sail in the water.

Take a short walk down to Klipgat cave, where evidence remains of the presence of early San people, or take a trip to the nearby Farm 215, a beautiful fynbos retreat. You could also go horse riding in the area or take a long stroll along the beach. Return to the welcoming atmosphere of Cliff Lodge in the evenings and watch the sun as it sets over the water.

Days 5-6

Enjoy Swellendam's beauty

Today will see you heading off on a scenic drive to Swellendam, a quiet town along the Garden Route. Settle down with a glass of wine at De Kloof, an intimate guest house where every effort is taken to make your stay enjoyable. In the evenings, you are treated to a complimentary wine tasting. If you are a golf enthusiast, make use of De Kloof's own driving range and putting green, otherwise you can set out to explore the beautiful town or simply relax beside the swimming pool or in your elegant suite.

Days 7-9

Delight your tastebuds at Bartholomeus

Leave Swellendam behind this morning as you drive to Bartholomeus Klip, located on a private nature reserve. This romantic farmstead is famous for its excellent cuisine which features a fusion of French and local flavours.

Of course, no meal in the Winelands is complete without an accompanying glass of delicious wine. You can spend your time here enjoying many exciting activities like wind surfing, canoeing, trout fishing or bird watching - all of these provide the opportunity to explore the beautiful natural surroundings. Mountain bikes are also provided for you to cycle through the reserve.

Day 10

Say goodbye to the Western Cape

This morning you will take the drive back to Cape Town International Airport and either connect to your onward travel arrangements on continue your South African experience. Pre-arrange with one of our experts to stay in Cape Town and do some shopping before returning home, or take another trip and explore a different part of the country.
