Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in beautiful Cape Town

Arrive at Cape Town International Airport and collect your rental car before driving to The Cellars-Hohenort. Alternatively, Go2Africa can transfer you to the hotel and arrange for your car to be dropped off there.

Situated on the slopes of Table Mountain and surrounded by historically significant wine estates, you'll be staying in the quiet, leafy suburb of Constantia. Take a stroll through the beautiful, internationally recognised gardens or take a guided tour through these amazing landscapes and breathe in the fresh Cape Town air.

Days 2-4

Explore Cape Town

Your hotel is ideally located to simply walk across the road and into the world-famous Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Pack a picnic and spend a day strolling around this floral wonderland or take a scenic drive along the Constantia Wine Route for some wine tasting treats.

Use the included vouchers to go on the Close Encounters with Baboons 1-day tour, and go on a scenic drive to Cape Point where you will get to see Chacma baboons in their natural habitat. Take the cable car up Table Mountain to experience this magnificent city from a completely different perspective.

Days 5-7

Admire Grootbos's fynbos vegetation

Today you will make your way east along the scenic Whale Coast to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve - home to indigenous forests and pristine fynbos.

Discover the wonders of fynbos as the Grootbos guide takes you on a champagne nature drive through the park and a walk through an ancient Milkwood forest to see thousand-year-old trees.

If you are visiting between June and December, take a trip down to the beach to view migrating southern right whales from the comfort of dry land. Nearby nesting grounds of the rare African penguin make for an interesting visit and you'll also be able to see Cape fur seals gathering en masse.

Visit the on-site fynbos nursery of the Green Futures Project. Here, you'll see local students learning about fynbos landscaping, horticulture and eco-tourism.

Days 8-10

Relax at Sanbona Game Reserve

Depart Grootbos and head inland, following scenic Route 62 to the beautiful Breede River Valley and arriving at Sanbona Game Reserve. Surrounded by indigenous flora, towering mountains, rivers and vineyards, your stay here will combine all the natural elements that give the Western Cape its exquisite beauty.

Enjoy game drives in search of the resident Big 5, go on guided nature walks and view original rock paintings or simply relax at the lodge and enjoy a range of different spa treatments.

Days 11-13

Experience the dramatic Cederberg

Take a picturesque three-hour drive to Bushman's Kloof, a wilderness reserve and wellness retreat at the foot of the Cederberg Mountains, and settle into the Supreme Suite.

This area is excellent for guided bush walks through natural fynbos to see the area's famous San Bushman rock art. Visit the caves where the San people used to live and discover the beauty, mystery and exquisite artistry of these indigenous tribes.

Venture into the reserve on a sunset nature drive and, if you visit between July and October, you have the opportunity of seeing much of the flora in bloom.

Relax and unwind at the wellness centre and enjoy a range of treatments to rejuvenate your body and soul.

Day 14

Return to Cape Town

Say goodbye to this beautiful haven and enjoy the scenic drive back to Cape Town International Airport. Return your vehicle to Budget South Africa and spend a few days shopping for gifts in Cape Town before heading home.
