Day 1

Then, enjoy a sight-seeing trip to the thundering Victoria Falls or simply sit back and unwind to the slow pace of Africa while on a relaxing evening game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park.

Day 2

Discovering the 'Smoke That Thunders'

After an early morning cup of tea or coffee, start the day with a game drive in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park or a cultural visit to nearby villages.

However, those in search of adventure will be happy to hear that the area is world-famous as Africa's adrenalin capital. The thrilling activities including bungee jumping, white-water rafting and a breath-taking helicopter flight over Victoria Falls.

Return to camp to spend some time soaking up the river views from your private deck before sundowners and a gourmet meal at the end of the day.

Day 3

Exploring the Lower Zambezi

After breakfast, transfer to Livingstone Airport for your scheduled flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park and your next accommodation, the Royal Zambezi Lodge. Settle in and take stock of your much wilder surroundings and plan the next few days of your safari.

The Royal Zambezi is an award-winning but unpretentious lodge located on the banks of the Zambezi River in a private concession opposite the world-famous Mana Pools World Heritage site in Zambia. With a host of exciting activities to choose from, you are guaranteed an exceptional experience: thrilling big-game encounters vie with canoeing the pristine waters teeming with hippos and crocodiles or hiking the surrounding mountains. Once you have had your fill of adventure, the Royal Bush Spa – Zambia’s first ‘bush spa’ - offers the perfect retreat to revitalise your body and senses. Or you could honour the lodge’s well-worn tradition of DNA – that’s, ‘Do nothing at all’.

Days 4-5

Go canoeing and fishing on the Lower Zambezi

The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of the region's best reserves. Home to large numbers of elephant, buffalo, hippo and lion, the game viewing is excellent and you'll have a variety of activities to choose from: explore the area on day and night game drives, guided nature walks, exciting boat cruises and even from a canoe as you slowly paddle downstream.

Fishing is also on the list of things to do here. Relax with a drink in hand as you wait for that first bite - bream make the best eating but tiger fish put up the best fight!

Day 6

Enjoy striking views of the South Luangwa

Take a boat transfer to Kulefu Airstrip for a short flight to Mfuwe Airport. Here, a land transfer drives you to Chichele Safari Lodge. Enjoy the views of local villages and the South Luangwa National Park en route to the lodge.

With a 360-degree view of South Luangwa's open landscape, your stay at Chichele will be a memorable one. Starting with an exciting afternoon game drive that introduces you to the area's wildlife before you settle down to dinner.

Days 7-8

Spotting elephants and leopards in South Luangwa

Prepare yourself for an exciting day of game viewing in Zambia's flagship national park.

Guided walking safaris are a very popular activity in the South Luangwa and are often rewarded with fantastic sightings of elephants and other big game species. The guides, supported by armed rangers, are superb and you will learn a great deal about the ecology of the park.

Spend your afternoon at leisure before heading off on a night drive in search of the park's nocturnal species, not least the leopard - South Luangwa is one of Africa's best destinations for this ever-elusive big cat.
