The Uganda Wildlife Authority manages 10 national parks and forest reserves ranging from the huge 4 000 km2 Murchison Falls National Park to the tiny 34 km2 Mgahinga National Park.

Uganda Gorilla Tracking takes place in the Bwindi Forest and to a lesser degree Mgahinga, but both Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Murchison Falls National Park offer excellent general game viewing as well.

Accommodation is usually in lodges located in or near the park.

The Queen Elizabeth National Park offers the best birding in East Africa - I was completely blown away by the birdlife on the Kazinga Channel - Africa safari expert Diederik van den Hoeke
