- Days 1-3: Lusaka - Kafue National Park
- Itinerary
Departing from Lusaka at 06h30 you head for the northern part of the Kafue National Park where you'll camp for 3 nights. This reserve, established in 1924, covers a huge area of wetland and miombo woodland, and is a wilderness sanctuary for lion, elephant, leopard, puku, lechwe and many other antelope, as well as over 400 species of birds. The Kafue River which forms part of the eastern boundary of the reserve is home to hippo and great numbers of crocodiles. The Kafue is a seldom visited area; untamed stretches of wilderness, reminiscent of ancient primal Africa. You spend your mornings and afternoons on game drives.
- Days 4-5: Lochinvar National Park
- Itinerary
This national park south of Lusaka is situated on the Chunga Lagoon with its abundant birdlife. The wetlands and surrounding floodplains support herds of buffalo, lechwe and zebra and you'll take a full day to explore this beautiful area.
Your visit brings much needed funds, which help support the anti-poaching teams in this area.
- Days 6-8: Victoria Falls
- Itinerary
You camp for 3 nights in Livingstone, Zambia, named after Dr David Livingstone, and visit the Mosi oa Tunya or 'the smoke that thunders' - Victoria Falls. These magnificent falls are one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. Make the most of the opportunity to white water raft or canoe on the mighty Zambezi, bungee jump or take the 'flight of Angels' (own expense).
- Days 9-10: Chobe National Park
- Itinerary
Crossing the Zambezi River on the Kazungula ferry you enter Botswana. The Chobe River flows lazily along the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park attracting some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa. You'll take a morning game drive in an open 4x4 in search of the lions which patrol the river banks.
In the afternoon you take a relaxing river cruise to watch the herds of elephant, lechwe, puku and other animals quench their thirst under the golden light of sunset. Your tranquil camp is on the banks of the river in Kasane and you fall asleep to the sound of hippo calling.
- Days 12-13: Lower Zambezi
- Itinerary
You drive down into the Lower Zambezi Valley and spend 2 nights at your lodge on the banks of the river. Enjoy a full day canoeing down the Zambezi River, home of the tribal mythical god - Nyami Nyami. The river attracts elephants and other wildlife from the surrounding wilderness.
